The conversion is really easy. You will need:

Engine
Gearbox (Can have the VTR one on, but its shit)
Unlocked ECU
Wiring Loom
VTS Top engine mount
VTS throttle cable
VTS exhaust manifold

Ideally you would also need:

VTS Radiator
Top Radiator hose (lower VTR hose you can cut to length)
VTS fan setup

and make sure you have the correct loom for your car to avoid unnecessary ball ache! :)

Hi dom, thank you for your repsonse! been running around in my vtr for ages now and finally managed to save some cash. Im thinking to buy a low milage vts, and a low milage vtr and put the vts engine in the vtr. Thanks for everything you listed, but dumb question or not but why would i need a unlocked ecu? would i still need a unlocked ecu if i literally took the ecu off the vts and put it in the vtr shell? surly i wouldnt. And when you say correct wiring loom for the car, i will be just swapping the vtr engine to a vts, i wont have to take the whole wiring loom out the vtr will i? Many thanks, Jordan :) x

Its not as easy as that at all, if your buying a cheap VTS Doner car then you can unlock the ECU easily before you remove all the parts from the car to put into your VTR. If you buy just the conversion bundles on here you normally get a Unlocked ECU in the bundles that are in the deal.

The best bet with the Engine bay wiring loom is to get the conversion 16v Engine out of a car with the Same Reg as your current car. May I ask what Reg plate do you have now? You have 3 types of wiring loom;
P, R, S, T Reg - Single Plug wiring loom
V, W, X Reg - Single Plug wiring loom with larger Multiplug under the passenger side headlight
Y Reg onwards - 3 Plug Wiring loom

Thats the general rule, apart from 1 or 2 minor exceptions.

Jordan, im only up the road in Bedford, so if you need much more info just PM me and pop over sometime, I can teach a monkey how to do a conversion, so a human, you will have your head around it in no time :)

Hi dom, i currently drive a vtr 52 plate, but im not going to do the vts conversion into this, but the converison will be from a mk 2 vtr - to a mk 2 vts, Dom ive pm'ed you. :) Thankyou again. Jordan.

should be simples but there is a if your going to do a furio as it dont matter if boths cars are the same year they just wont go unless you chop wires like mine, some do i was just unlucky lol.

So if I wanted to convert my Mk2 2002 Furio 1.4 to a VTS, I would have to get a engine out a 2001+ car and its just straight swap? And unlock ecu obviously.

Would Vts wiring loom plug directly in the vtr one if its the same year?

also

i thought the VTS Top engine mount is the same as the vtr one?

just Really interested i want 16 v SO BAD!
