Nice list there, im more in depth with this stuff as I used to do it for a living ''properly''
pre soak
rinse (with warm water at a higher output rate on the jet wash)
Wash with fairy liquid (removes all waxes etc etc) use two bucket approach
snow foam (to attract any loose micron particals)
rinse
dry
(inspect)
rinse
clay using the water already on the car along with a squeezy bottle to add more water (its a myth about using lube! water is just as good)
rinse
dry
mask up (around lights, windows etc etc)
inspect paintwork under high beam lights for swirls/oxydisation & depth guage the paint etc etc
Compound to remove deep scratches
50/50 shot of said area
compound again with a less abrasive compound remember to change pads in this process
paint cleanser the car to remove any loose bits of compound
Polish
sealant
paint cleanser again just to make sure surfae is nice and clean for waxing
2 or more coats of wax
glass polished and sealed
inspection under lighting
remove wheel and do the usual treatment on them
repaint calipers (if applicable)
refit wheels
Final inspection
Task complete
you can reuse your pads and cloths and application pads simply by
cloths washing in warm water with fairy liquid rinse out until clear water shows from cloths
pads same process as above but if really caked on use a tooth brush to go in deeper
application pads same as both steps above
:)
im currently doing this on my car along with a mate and so far we have sunk in 37 man hours thats proper detailing. Doing a ''full'' detail in a day (7 hours) is total novice as it shows its been rushed and not preped properly a true detailer takes at least a week to 9 days to finish a car off correctly and proffesionally.
here is a couple of teaser pictures of how mines looking so far & il be uploading a full detailed threado on here in a couple of days

You do know, fairy contains salts which slowly eat away and deteriorate your paintwork ?

yes, thats why you really rinse down the car i dont meana quick 10min blast i mean rinsing the car off for a good 30-40 mins lol.
plus a PH nuetral snow foam will grab what ever is left on the car as snow foam eats into salts etc etc thus your not damaging the paint work as you dont give it time (in the fairy liquid wash process) to dry on the car what so ever.
20mil in one bucket of warm water does no harm to a car as long as you know what your doing.
