Hi guys,

Newbie here and i'm sorry if I'm repeating a question thats already been answered!

I just passed my driving test and got a saxo 1.1 easy coast 3dr as my first car, unfortunately I didn't spot the soaking wet carpet and mould when I bought it! It's been cleaned and dried now and looks ok, but the leak that caused it is still there. It rained last and the carpet on the drivers side is wet again :( the sunroof has been checked and it's not coming in through there, it's got no power steering or air con to blame either, any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance :)

if it isnt the sunroof..
open the bonnnet, check to see if that there are holes for the water to escape through (small holes)..sometimes they can get blocked which result in the water not getting out and leaking to the floor.
i need to sort my leak out some point.. passenger side floor is wet.
also check for rust.

welcome to sax-p by the way.

Hi,
Thanks for the welcome and for replying :) i'll get out there and have a look in the morning, it's in the back of the car rather than the front though (floor behind drivers seat), it's got me stumped!

Welcome to sax-p :y:

Pop your bonet and make sure drainage holes are not blocked by leaves etc (top left, right next to bonet hinge) you may find the water is coming from just under the dash on the drivers side, pretty much directly below where the vent on the dash is. atleast thats where mine came from.

Ive cleared my drainage and havnt seen any water since, but in saying that.. its not really rained much here for last few days/week.

Also, if you have your ariel up front check the base and make sure its not perished.

Thank you :)
Will get him indoors to take a look under the bonnet and check the ariel today and i'll let you know if that was where it was coming from,

Thanks again all :)
