Hello people.

Erm.. slight concern here.

I'm trying to upload photos of the Northern Street Car Show meet (i have about 30 photos) but there seems to be a limit. If post the maximum possible on one post then try to repeat the process on a second post I have to delete the first which means they cant be seen :upset:

Am i right in thinking that my latest progress pictures of my car will become delete when i remove them?

Seems a bit of a shame thats all (not just for me but for others)

If I'm right in saying, vBulletin uses a standard of displaying 10 pics per post. Simo or Mark can change this.

But something that should work (well at least I know it works on another site) is that if you post the first 10 pics. Then when you go to make another reply putting up another 10 pics, those last 10 pics you added actually add to the original set, thus becoming 20 pics in your first post.

Oh right. Well I know it does or at least did work on IPB. I think there are a lot of members who would like the ability to put up more than 10 pics at a time. PM Simo about it mate.

Are you doing it like this...

* Create a new thread with 10 pics.
* Click Post Reply and put up another 10 pics.

This should (or at least I think it did) add those last 10 pics to your original 10.

If not, does it add the last 10 images in a separate post?

If you're doing it like that, then I'm not sure why it's not doing it. That is unless it was a small bug on the majority of forums which has now been rectified.

This depends on what limit you are talking about.. there are two.

There is a limit in the number of images allowed in a post... this can be changed, but it set reasonably so far.

There is also a limit on the amount of storage space I have allowed Premium members. This is on trial currently but it is not feasible to give you unlimited space (as before) as there are too many images being stored (gigabytes!!) Currently the upload limit is 4.5Mb and could be extended further, but shouldnt need to be as you should get 90+ pics out of that easily.

Feedback is required...

ok so just clarify man...
I understand we have a certain amount of storage space available to us.

So if let say i put up a post of a meet (using all space available to me), then many weeks go by and i decide I want to put up some photo's of my car, I would have to delete the pictures of the meet to put up photo's of my car?

Is that correct?

It just seems if someone is doing a search or wants to look back over some pics that they come to a thread (and the thread might only be a couple of weeks old) that appears a bit scruffy with missing photo's and incomplete posts or something... possibly. seems a bit of a shame but i understand the need to cut down on size the site holds.

That is correct.

Unfortunately I am not in a position to offer unlimited webspace. This was a fault in the previous system, as you had no way of managing your attachments. Now you can pick and choose which stay and which you delete.

Regarding pics of regional meets... As discussed else where, the concept is that the person responsible for the meet pics would be able to display them in an appropriate section.

Ultimately all meet pics should appear in the events section of the main site, not simply lost in the forums.

Premium members uploading huge lists of pics to the forums was a huge drain on the last server, as every time anyone clicked on the thread, they had to download several megabytes of photos, whether they wanted to see the photos or not.

Once we get the detail right, this will work out for the best.

Again... feedback needed. Maybe this should be raised in the premium forum to get more feedback.

Ok cool man, that makes sense to me.

I suppose its like anything new we just need to get used to it.

In future if you dont mind i will (possibly) send my photo's to you to be included on the events section yeah?

by-the-way... hows the edit function issue coming??? :D:

cheers man!
