He got insured on it, aged 17, for £1500 in english money.. and you dont have to get mot's or anything like that :fcuk:
Allthought he lost his license for drifting, when he can apply for it again, he has to get a ka now hes living in england.. what a downgrade lol :wall:

What was that Skyline many years ago in Australia? The most famous one with the cool number plate?
The story behind it..
A lad drove like a dick at the wheel, just a young guy 16-18 iirc Killed him, his two mates, and an unborn child at the wheel. Power for underage drivers is wrong. Smashing the car and leaving it unrecognisable in two pieces.

i have a mate in aus too and depending on what city you live in it can also be illegal to modify the car in any way. he has a pulsar imported there from Japan and he got a heavy fine for it having a dump valve and after market exhaust on it.
so it has bad points as well as the good.

Oh i see, well it could be the same where my mate lived aswell, because he said his engine was completely standard

could be mate i know that when you first pass over there you can only drive at certian times and you have to have a fully licenced person with you for a set amount of time too.

Oh i see, so it does seem that the good and bad may weigh eachother out in some places

Depends where you are in Australia. Where I lived for many years you had to be 18 years to hold a probationary drivers licence and as a new drivers you where limited to a vehicle with no more then 125kw power per tonne.

Or I should say more that third party personal is included in what is sort of your road tax. This only covers a person being injured but not property. So same thing really you dont have to go out and get it. Some states in Australia it was and may still be like that as well.

i'd rather stay living here with what i've got, if i lived in australia and could get really cheap insurance for a car i'd probably buy something way to powerful for me and write it off lol.

Fair comment from both sides but surely the risk of living in australia itself far outweighs wanting to live their for cheap insurance? :y:

Better life better standard of living most full time jobs are less hours, The health care is better than the uk and you get nice weather all year round. cheap rent cheap beer cheap fuel. That's a massive risk!!!! I think not.

As sid new zed, or ch ch, is where you want to go. Insurance is optional! But, you are stupid not to get it, as my mate who lives there have some 4ltr v8, god knows what it is, 400odd ponies, fully body kitted, wheels, tuned...all mods declaired.
Paying, what equals to 49quid over here!
Uk insurance wont touch him on it!
He ahs thousands oh photos on facebook, in his first six months, he got a new camera and went through its shutter cycle life! Haha!

Check here fella, doesnt seem to bad to get there.
Wanted to immigrate to US but is going to be nigh on impossible for permanent residency.
EDIT: Just filled in an application test thingy for AUS and seems i would be elligible, very tempting after being knocked back from the US!

also the standard of driving over here is rubbish.
and you can rarely go over 60kmph and if you hoon about expect your car to be taken away and crushed. there are bonuses though, my insurance on a mk6 golf R is less than 200 quid per year. and the v8 ute i used to own cost less than that.

i got a quote on a holden ss ute and it was aud$400 fully comp. third party insurance is included in the price of petrol (which was 60p a litre!) but new drivers are restricted to 2.5 engines for a certain time, 2 years i think. no restrictions on power though so 2.5 turbo jap motors are a common favourite.
