SHOW THEM HERE PLEASE :)

im thinking of removing the dash and matrix in my car id estimate a 15 kilo weight loss, only thing is can you make it look tidy?

this is as it is at the moment...

I would say unless you have some fancy aftermarket display then take the dash off. Trim supports and internal material and put it back on. It hides a lot of wiring.

I'm with Kam on that. The standard console isn't a bad looking dash. Afterall, it's the bits that it holds like the heater matrix etc you mentioned that are the weighty items. Trim out a load of the console's webbing etc and put it back. There's nothing tattier than a load of wiring dangling about on show at the front of a car.

i parked next to a caged saxo once with no dash and the dials bolted to the middle lol
didnt look that bad but it was dark so i probably couldnt see the wires

mines a ph1 106 dash and its very light when you chop all the back out. and all the underside that you dont need. mines away neing flocked as we speak but id say its under 5 kg now, and the heater unit weighs bugger all, ive refitted it to my track car as my gti sucked without it! but the sound deadening behind if you havnt already removed it is pretty heavy! but cut round the blower motor to leave a small bit as a gasket as it wont but up to the bulkhead without it....

You know what one looks like with no dash you have striped enough and as I said Rickys had no dash and looked wowful.

(even thou I liked it but am strange and like stuff like that)

Yes lee i have broken more saxo/106's than i can count. But ive never tidied one up etc

I've got a ghetto dash, it looks shit but I've got the oe dash down to about 2.5 kg. Will have a nose for pics later.

Take it out.
Gut it.
Either flock or my personal choice, leather it.
Fit carbon sheet over the holes is vents etc.

Refit and enjoy..
