Is starting now.

Do you think the outcome will be?

Reports suggest

Osborne to offer income tax break to ease pressure on middle class
• The pounds falls as the MPC publishes minutes
• First-time home buyers to get help from Budget
• Increase in earnings threshold without paying tax to £8,085

Lets wait and see, all to be revealed in the next 60 minutes

Politics and Sax-p, interesting mix

Tbh doing an accountancy degree so when i go in tomorrow / next week all my lecturers will be getting a semi about everything that is said in the budget.
The tax break is nice to hear but it's not going to help how much debt the country is in, may aswel just bite the bullet and carry on as we are. Haven't heard any rumours flying around about fuel tax so will be interested to see what comes from that.
Earnings threshold going up to over £8k would be nice, Think that would just see me out of paying tax only working part time.
But, as you said, these are only reports, and what politicians stick to their words? Just got to wait and see

I thought the tax threshold would be raised to about £7475?

We will see. They have to get confidence up in the economy as the pound is snowballing again. They need to build an infrastructure to get manufacturing growth through the roof, creating jobs and balancing the countrys reliance on growth in the banking industry.
This is not going to get us out of the recession. Businesses and people have to get themselves out the debt hole, but hopefully it will help. Not a lot you can do about fuel prices.

Just had a quick read, heard that the plan of the 1p increase of fuel next month is being scrapped and as oil price rises they want to decrease the duty tax. So in my mind, everything cancels everything out so will probs just stay around the same price. Great

£7475 is already planned for next month, Maybe more after the official budget

Edit : did you edit or am i just being daft?

Original plan was to increase by £1k, think they have mentioned increasing by another £600 as well, so that would bring it up to the £8k mark which would be nice, although if the increase in NI happens, it's going to dampen it a bit, although not for lower income people. I'd estimate people earning 30k+ will probably not notice any difference.

No doubt we'll get a letter round tomorrow (work at a chartered accountants) banging on about it, so I'll comment further then!

The first time buyer thing interests me slightly, but I doubt it will go ahead as mentioned.

As nice as a 1% increase to employee and employer NI?

Has anything even been mentioned about the NI increase?

8k and no extra fuel duty nice!

Osborne: "Britain is not in charge of world oil prices". Says he has listened to the concerns of the public but rejects separate VAT rate for petrol which he reckons would be "illegal". Planned fuel duty increase of 1pc above inflation to be scrapped and fuel escalator will be ditched when oil prices are high. Fuel duty will be lower by 1p from 6pm tonight.

Not til next year, and he's lowered it by 1p, but lets all look at it in another light.

a 1p decrease, but then you have to look at the fact that the price of oil is rising, thanks in part to the shit that is going down in Libya even though they aren't a major producer, but who's also stirring shit up in Libya even more...

Wouldn't be the UK amongst other people would it... they don't need to increase fuel duty because they are getting more off the increased oil price! Clever bastards!

I'm sure they aren't doing it on purpose, someone has to put these conspiracies together though...
