I know it is very hard and you need to bring something to the country.

You cant just pack up and go

You will need your workers permit
A certain ammount of money in your bank account already
References from work possibly.

There is loads you need to think about! My mate has just got back from ch ch and new z! Tried explaining it all to me, but was a fair ammount to take on.

I was going to move to australia but then I look into the details and as stupid as it sounds. UK is better for the perks, free nhs etc.

To move to australia you have to have a work permit and have something stupid like 100,000 quid? might be 10,000.

It depends on how long you wanna stay for and what type of work you plan to do

If you want to emmigrate full stop, I believe they work on a 'points' system.
You get more points for having a degree for example, or for having what they consider a 'wanted skill'. You need a certain amount of points to qualify. I think thats how it works any way. Best thing to do is view the Australia immigration website

pomsinoz.com is also a good site to get an idea of other peoples situation an how they are progressing.

ive been looking into this as well, im 19 atm.
when im about 25 i think im going to apply for a travel and working visa which lasts a year in about 5 years. you have to be between 18-30 to do this and have 5000 Australian Dollas to show you can fund the trip then you can work out there, but cannot work with a company for more than 6 months or do any courses etc.
then after i have done that maybe around mid 30's apply for a full immigration visa which works on a points system. i am an apprentice in BAE Systems serving my time as an Installation and Commissioning Engineer so i should be able to get in, maybe even transfer to a BAE Systems out in Oz.

thats the plan anyways, but lets see what happens

what about...
your family?
friends?
british culture?
familiar scenes and people?
cars?
food?

i'd never think about doing this

Different people different opinions.

For me the answers would be:-
your family? small family, can always come back and visit maybe annually.
friends? make new friends, still can keep in contact with old friends.
british culture? adapt, something humans are good at.
familiar scenes and people? some may say this is boring, new experiences are interesting.
cars? what does this relate to?
food? plenty of nice food all around the globe.

yeah i suppose so mate, do what makes you happy :y:

ahh yeah, but wouldn't you want to see your family all the time?
what about your boys? i dont think i could ever move away from them, i love the all the lads
culture, dont you love the whole british thing? i love being from england, i love english culture, its nothing to do with adapting im quite a patriotic person i suppose
dont you love going to the same scenes? like nightclubs, dont you ever walk into a night club and know loads of people? its great to catch up and that with people, its nice knowing where everyones going to be, like bluenote in derby on a friday night ;)
cars? cars in austrailia are shite (imo of course) but they dont have the same respect for cars over there that we do, i love the chav scenes, and all the different looks going on
and food, i've had a re-think on this one haha, australian food is banging

We've lived in Saudi Arabia, Canada and Norway.

We were going to emigrate to Canada but my mum never fancied it, however my Dad is a Canadian resident.
It's pretty simple but the main points have been mentioned already.

For example for my Dads Canadian residency he had to complete and pass a citizenship exam.

I remember him studying the book, it was massive.

Australia is piss easy to emigrate to is long as you have the correct qualifications/experience http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/sol/ or if you have a fair amount of ready cash. I used to live there and often wish I was still there. Great weather and tones of space.

I do live in Oz. it is fantastic.
Family - england or aus is only a day away and air travel is cheaper nowadays.
Friends - with time everyone grows up and drifts apart there is always skype email telephones etc and flights same as family
Culture - Aus culture isnt so different seeing as there is a massive expat contingent over here. living somewhere else doesnt take away your roots.
scenes - same people same place every week? no thanks but then its the same in any city in any part of the world if you frequent places long enough
Cars - Aus has the same cars 95% of the time as england and then some different ones. chav culture is alive and well in car terms here we just call them ferals or bogans.
food - a country with cultures from all over the world, every concieveable food you can think of is available.

my opinion of course.

It's all relative though, fair enough that would be a disadvantage of immigrating but there are bucket loads of positives. IMO of course.
