Ive read that the best thing to do in a saxo is a sub/amp in the boot and components in the front. But ive found with this setup anyone sitting in the back can only ever hear bass and cant hear vocals :homme:
say if i put some 10cm alpine/pioneer/jbl rear speakers in the rear door cars, would this sort the problem or would they try and play bass lol?

Ive never actually thought about it for rear passengers, i have upgraded rears, i'll sit in the back and have a listen today, and let you know haha

stick some cheap co-ax's in the back and run them off the stock wiring for a bit of rear fill maybe set the fader to +1 or 2 rear when you have people in the back so they can hear

lol ok so some rear speakers then. do rear speakers in the door cards have an advantage over rear speakers on the shelf? much difference?

rear speakers in the shelf will get distorted by the air being moved around by your sub.

obvious +ve of speakers in stock location in the rear is they will not get distorted by the sub however they are a bit of a pain to get to.

tbh though its only really worth upgrading them if you have rear seat passengers a lot, i couldnt care less if my passengers could hear my music as iv barely ever got people in the back

Everyone says forget about rear speakers because they are small and insignificant. But I put some rear door cards from a gti in mine which came with standard 10cm speakers and the sound is 10x better. The sound sounds 3D in a way with 4 speakers in a small cabin.

My advice would be to get some cheapish ones, and you will notice a difference

When I got my car it had large speakers in the parcel shelf and all the noise was just being reflected off the rear window glass, took out the crappy parcel shelf speakers, put the rear doorcards in with the tiny 10cm rear speakers and the sound was a lot better.
