vts = 120bhp facStd.
not sure on the 1.6civicVTI facStd bhp but if it is 160bhp...
do the math ;)

can be pushed upto 190 - 200 pretty easy not bad on fuel if you stay out of vtec.
bad points-
they rust like fuck around the back arches
not many people will map them in the uk without a after market ecu or uni chip
most have been abused and driven within a inch of there life
and finally most of them belong to the people who say "veri fast car init mate braaaap" and come from Bradford.

Near dead on with a VTS speed-wise.
Would rather a VTS than an EK4. Cheaper to repair and insure, power below 5k revs and will handle better.

they are nice, especially the ek4 99-00 facelift model.
i had a saxo vtr then a honda civic 1.6 vti facelift 2000 model.
Alot better to drive then a saxo in my opinion and more room.
My saxo was giving 300 miles on a full tank back then, the civic vti was giving 220-240 on a full tank. Both were roughly the same to fill up

few points i agree with here but
pushed to 200 easy is a myth, you cant gain 40bhp without spending some decent money (port polish cams/itbs if you stay n/a or turbo the stock engine)
and they can be mapped fully on a stock ecu with chrome, and its quite cheap to do, or you have put a hondata s300 in the stock ecu and itll work like a fully standalone ecu (i have s300 on my delsol)

can you show me proof of this?

Think about it it's common sense
All your doing is allowing air to flow better so maybe gain 1-2hp

LOL, your polishing a port, as soon as the engine is started it will go back to how it was before the polish.

ok thanks, but surely fuck all would be 0hp?
i never said your gunna gain 10000000000bhp by port polishing but as you may know when tuning N/A you need every hp poss, you cant just turn the boost up and put some more fueling in like with a F/I car

LOL, your polishing a port, as soon as the engine is started it will go back to how it was before the polish.
right for a start you wouldnt polish the inlet ports as you need a rough surface to create turbulent air so the fuel mixes better (giving a more complete and cleaner burn) and you polish the exhaust ports to HELP reduce carbon buildup as youve spent the time opening the port out you dont want it carboning up and restricing back down again (but wait, your ported inlet now means you get a cleaner burn so theres less carbon buildup)
:drink:
the polish is just to add life to the port, the size and shape is the key to power gains, but you know this already

skim, port n polish, breathing mods and ITR valvetrain and your near 180bhp.. remap could see 190 - 200bhp ;)

Thats an old saying of 'de-coking' I think you'd find. You'd also do that with the valves and combustion chamber. You cannot reduce carbon build up, it's going to happen regardless, it's a bi product!

im not saying its not going to happen, im saying this will slow the buildup :wall:

No, after de coking, It will still build up just as fast, unless you some how make the combustion cleaner.
De coking can stop hot spots in a combustion chamber, but as soon as you start getting deposits again, hot spots will be there.

Where did you say for example, iam going to make the combustion cleaner by using say two spark plugs? You haven't. CBA with you anymore, you made yourself look enough of a twat without me carrying on.

Mine lasted three days cos it was shite.
I've had an EG6 running 190bhp and believe me to get that extra 10bhp for 200 was gonna take lots of work and I'd started with the 170bhp import engine.

Although the EG6 is just as quick? And you pay pure fanboy tax on the 9.
It was just not rite, mechanically it was sound had 98spec Type-R box, exedy clutch, type-r flywheel, typical I-H-E stuff done, tein springs, black dc2 recaros and a few other bits but it was just shite.

Just fuck it and get a EK9... there for real men
their over rated, the only 2 reasons to get one is imo;
1, the B16b engine
2, the stock suspension is corner weighted from the factory (like an ITR)
most of em already come with coilovers so thats one reason gone, and the B16b will be expensive to replace if it fails so most people then swap em out for b18c6s (uk teg engines)

Stripped, breathed on EG VTi was about level with my stripped, breathed on 16v 106 on track on the straights, slower through corners, and better under braking. That came from one of the passengers from the EG after I took him out for a couple of laps.
Even now, I do keep looking at EG VTis/SiRs though. :/

D2's are shit, they blow the seals as soon as they see the entrance gate to a track..
Ek9's are ok cars it's just the premium they demand makes them pointless as they're not that much better than an oem car it's more the pub bragging rights..
