Hey, thanks for taking time to read if you're reading this.
Basically, i resprayed my car a while back, not the best paint job yet but i'm hoping that the finishing stages sort out most of the imperfections.
Anyway, i know about the rubbing down process, i'm gonna get stuck in with a whole pack of 2500 grit and flat it all off, but what i want to know is what to do next?
I'm happy mopping it, i have a variable speed orbital polisher, sealey one i think. I need to know what heads to use on it, what compounds and waxes, ideally not too expensive either?
Colour is ford panther black and a shit load of 2k clearcoat.

Anyone? I've made a start on flatting it off and at the rate I'm going it's not gonna take too long to remove these imperfections and orange peel.

Menzerna Power Finish should remove 2500, it did last time I wet sanded. That was with the corresponding Menzerna pads aswell, although I didn't really like using their pads, it did the job.
You could even try stepping it down to PO 203 S Power Finish, this might even have enough cut to remove 2500. Refine with Final Finish after and you'll be left with a spanking finish. This was all done on Dual Action machine bearing in mind.

Oh wow, I'll have a look at the pictures as soon as I'm home.
I found myself in the suppliers earlier... Ended up spending 100 on some G3 and 2 compound heads, then some ultrafine SE anti-hologram and some high gloss pads.
Quite suprised how easy its been just giving it a quick rub over with the 2500 grit. I've got me and my missus, also my assistant and his missus at the workshop 2moro to get the majoritory of it done :)

Mmm...
G3, a detailers nightmare, a bodyshops best friend lol
By ultrafine SE I presume you mean 3M stuff ?

Hey people, just came on to let you know how i've got on.
I managed to get a whole side of the car polished up, the boot and other rear wing are rubbed down, leaving a door, front wing, bonnet and roof to do - and the bumpers and other removeable bits. I've spent so much time polishing it up but my god i'm happy! Just can't wait to see the rest of the car finished :D
Bonnet is NOT done, neither is the boot, im sure people can figure out the white marks are just polish and mess made cleaning up this side.
