ok so im looking at quotes online at the minute and im curious as to what to put as my average mileage :S, it all makes sense that the less miles you do the cheaper your premium will be but my problem is this..... currently i am doing about 6000 miles a year not alot i know, but im finishing my degree this june and i'm getting a placement with a company but i have no idea where in the country i will be based yet, so in reality i simply cant judge how many miles i'm going to be doing, so i really want to put 6000 down but don't want to get in trouble if i end up doing more :S
does this make any sense?
and your opinions needed, thanks

Put 6k down now and the increase it when you need too
You can just ring and up the average mileage halfway through a policy, they just charge extra and add it to your monthly payment or take a one off charge if you payed upfront

Yep stick down 6k, check whether this is an AGREED mileage.
Mine is on 3k Agreed although I suspect I'll go over so I'll ring up the insurance company in due course and they can bum me to oblivion with a new price.
