Need help asap.

Fitted a sub and amp earlier today was working fine, until suddenly, (YOU GUESSED IT) it stopped working...

Red protect light came up on my amp and the sub stopped working..

Every time i pull the two remote wires out the back of the headunit the light goes off then when i plug them back in they go back on again, the wires are not being pinched or anything, any idea whats going on?

when you say 'plug it back in, the light comes on again' is it the green light or red?
few ways of checking if amp is ok or not:
get a piece of wire and bridge it from the power on the amp to the remote to see if lights goes green...if it does, then your remote cable is at fault.

check all fuses including the inline fuse on power cable.

check the earthing point....sandpaper the paintwork to bare metal for a good earth.

turn your bass etc down on your amp settings.

if any of your mates have an amp in there car, borrow it for 10 mins , wire it up , and if that amp light goes green....youve fried your amp ( i did this on mine earlier, yes my amp is fried ) :(
