I think... thats just a button in the cigarette socket, that LOOKS like a cigarette lighter

which is infact a normal button


like a hidden starter button for security reasons, just looks like a fag lighter but oops, no its not ;)

Mate of myne did this on his car.

Basicaly he removed the cigarette lighter, placed a normal push-start button there,
At 1st he put a plain black piece of vinyl over it so just looked like a cig lighter.

I supose you could dis-mantle one and with a bit of soldering etc use a real one as a start button

yeah the buttons are the same size as the fag lighter so it'll just push in there

Well depends, if you want to do it without need for keys. You have to wire the ignition system to a good rated toggle switch.. and then the push button into the start position.

OR you can just wire the button up to start the car, but will require your keys in the ignition anyway which defeats the object.
And you need a proper push button start switch

Why on earth do you want push button start on a saxo anyway, unless was tracked prepared.

im wanting to use it as a security measure allong with a kill switch to petrol pump so that if anyone broke into my car(with the keys) they would try to start car and nothing would happen and if the thief looked for a start button he wouldnt and doubt he would push fag lighter and find the kill switch so nicking it would be hard unless he knew

Why would you need anything else other than a fuel cut off switch, providing that it was hidden?

haha i was looking at this post back in april, it is very easy to do this and there is no hidden start switch or anything like that, all you need to do is re wire the cig lighter socket and make it so the lighter wont stay pushed in.
