Was just driving along and then all of a sudden I heard a very loud scraping noise so I got the car parked. I let the handbrake off and slowly pushed the car and its coming from the back passenger wheel. Has the calliper locked? I have it parked in a dodgy place and im not driving it lol I can feel the back end being forced to move when accelerating and its from that wheel

Take the wheel off, clean up the calliper carrier and wind back the piston to make sure it's not seized

why would you scrap it?

at worst you will need a new caliper or wheel bearing.

possible handbrake cable?

hardly worth scrapping is it?
