Hi guys,

I have a saxo 1.1i mk1 all standard (except facial stuff), just after i brought the car from the previous owner, the clutch went - this was fine as they paid for it all to be fixed - after a month or so of driving the car - the downpipe cracks on the under side of the plate that bolts onto the manifold.

I spoke to the previos owner (as he is one of my mates) if this has happened before, he said no - might be just be my driving getting use to it.
Luckily he had a pipe that was a straight pipe to fit on (no holes or blows, all solid). So we fitted it and everything was fine.

From then on i avoided just putting my footdown as the state of the downpipe was a mess (will upload pics later).

Recently the noise has come back and it feels it has air rushing from that area, is there any reason why this would keep cracking? After the pipe change my mpg dropped (but not alot) due to no lambda sensor on the system, but recently its got worse - three quarters of a tank to half a tank in 16 miles and thats eco driving and 50mph max.

Help? Cheers
