ARB inner thread knackered?

I tried to follow the guide and tighten the rear ARB the other day, where you put a bolt in and pull it towards the end plate, but the thread on the bolt just shredded, and it seems when shining a torch inside the ARBs thread is knackered, is there wa way to get the end plate off and pull the ARB out that way or some other way to repair the thread and pull the ARB out?

You could re tap the thread and use a brand new bolt perhaps?

is it an easy job to do mate? And will it not make it weaker so when you put the bolt in to tug the arb toward the end plate it will just rip the thread again?
