Flatspot?

Ive have got my hands on a T reg VTR.
Took it out and found a slightly annoying problem.

It has a "flatspot" or lack of power between 3500 and 4000rpm.
then loads of power after it.
Any suggestions to what it could be?

Car seems pokey enough. Just in the specified rev range seems to be a dip in power

coilpack, spark plugs? may be misfirng under load

Well i have no service history for the car so un able to see if it was serviced, but ill throw some new plugs in see if that fixes anything
