Idle is a little bit rough (goes between 800-1000 rpm on idle) and so i'm going to give it a clean and replace the sensors.
Also the intake area appears to be ticking/tapping but not UNDER the head - what could this be?

surely with your breather filter piped like it is your getting an air leak? coming in behind the throttle body? youd be best off clamping the pipe from the inlet to the breather on the cam cover and seeing what happens.

The red oval is the ICV iirc,
and where the arrow is on the side of the engine block are the two sensors, one is blue and the other is green and abit lower down.
I think this is correct.
with regards to the ticking sound you describe it could be the coil pack ??
Hope this helps

Do you mean block it off to see if this improves the idling etc?

red oval circling the throttle body. the idle control valve on 106's is behind the block in a housing. if you follow the larger pipe that goes into your induction kit intake jobby , behind the inlet it should lead to the icv! the green and blue sensors are marked correctly
yes pull the small pipe from the breather t piece and bung a bolt in it and clamp it up. see what happens........

the icv valve is on the opposite side of the throttle body has a pipe going into it and a 3 pin plug.

Just to confirm:

What about the T-piece on top of the engine? Won't it mess things up not having anything connected into that?

hmmm isnt it amazing all the minor differences between 106's and saxos. is the icv just bolted to the inlet?

pull that pipe from the breather end and bung it up.its drawing air into your inlet behind the throttle flap.................

Consider it done - what about the T-piece on top of the engine tho? Does that not matter?

Get the breather from a furio / early vtr without the t piece and put the filter on there. yes Its just 2 m8 bolts and a "o" ring that bolts it to the inlet.

Anything I can do in the short term for when I block off the pipe?

its hard to tell from the picture but the breather looks like its large enough to go straight on the cam cover with the t piece taken off?

mk1 saxo bolted to inlet, mk2 saxo bolted to tb :y:

Seems to have done the trick (the altering of intake - now has filter on top of block, fits fine and the intake tube is blocked).
