I've recently noticed that the cars coolant fan has been running longer than normal when I've switched the engine off after my journeys home. The water level was checked and slightly topped up, and I heard no more from it, I know the warm weather will be making the car engine warmer but I noticed the fan ran for longer again today. Again the water was checked and needed a larger amount of water to top it back up :/ I'm wondering whether the head gaskets on its way out? Does anyone no how much roughly ir would be to get it replaced if it is infact the problem? I've searched a few posts on hhere already and found some relating to air locks and trying to bleed it. Any help would be much appreciated :)

No it seems fine. Its only when I park up and switch everything off, the fan goes on for around 2 to 3 mins then stops I check the water top it up if it needs it then the car stops doing it for about 2 days then it comes back on. The water was topped up yesturday so I'm watching to see when it starts again and ill check the water level if it does need topping up that will make it 3x's since saturday just gone.

I've not touched the car as of yet as I'm more sort of monitoring it to see if I'm worrying over nothing or in fact there is a problem. If you get what I mean, I presumed the worse and was thinking the head gasket was on its way out but the other problems it could be are an idea. Ill have to get someone to check those things out on the car for me. Thanks

have a search on here for the head gasket mate as there are a lot of other signs that it has gone.
