Removing Heat Shield - Pro's and Con's

So for whatever reason my cat and silencer are touching the heat shield under the car which rattles on idle and low revs which is annoying and embarrasing. From what I can see, theres only a few bolts which hold it on but are there any downsides to taking it off?

i took mine off my old vts as it rattled never thought about it after

i ripped mine of vtr a few weeks ago (same problem) i not had any issues

only issue is it melting the bushes at the bottom of the gear stick only seen it once but that was after a huge track session on a hot day so you should be fine mate just give the underside a jet wash every now and then to ceap it clean and your onto a win.
