For the love of god, my sky tv broke last tuesday i phoned up on friday and they sent an engineer out on sunday as they said it was my box or dish that was fucked.

Guy said it was the box, replaced the box with the new style boxs and the silver thomson ones were faulty from factory.

Watching tv now and its the same fucking error again.

Piece of fucking wank......AHHHHHHH SO BASTARD MAD.

My dad had the same problem, Sky dont give a shit once theyv'e got your custom they'll bend over backwards to get new customers but existing ones are just tied to a contract.

more reasons i certainly wont get Sky.

My gf has the top package sky plus, and yet she has had no end of problems. 3 new boxes yet all have fialed with the same problem. 2 dishes...I mean what can go wrong with the dish! new software updates.

but most of all, its the total crap you get from the support line. Stuff like you cant watch a channel that you've set to record on later, or even more moronic - You are not subscribed to recieve terestrial channels. sheesh!

Of course its always the usual - have you tried turning it off and on, is it plugged in, is the power light on.............are there really people that thick out there? trying to wach sky when they havent plugged it in!

Im happy with renting a film, and all on offer with the digital channels :)

Alteration to the Sky advert : "Sky Plus - What do you want to watch?.......... a f***in channel that works!"

Sky's always look a bit wank IMO.

Freeview all the way - sadly it doesnt have ANY of the God Channels :upset:

erm yes there is and more than you would think, i used to work the tech lines and yes you would get at least a few people per day that wouldnt have the box on or plugged in, so its a very valid question to ask.

When there are people stupid enough to mount their dish on there front gate then phone sky moaning when they loose reception when the gate is open or moves in the wind then you pretty much have to cover all situations.

You would be surprised mate. When I worked for T-Mobile we used to get people phoning up complaining that their mobile wasn't working. You would go through all the checks and it turned out that they hadn't put the battery in.

Yeah, boiling water is an option. Perhaps it could be plan b though. Just a suggestion! We had the same problem with our sky box. They kept saying "switch it off at the mains, wait, and plug it back in". Never worked!!!!

Services>system setup> press 0, 1 then select on the handset > New installation and try that, might work might not:P

Also please be aware fannying around in the installer setup can really fuck things up

Also as it was a new install, unplug it and make sure the lead with the screw on connector has not come loose, tighten it up, plug back in, wait 30 secs and try

tell them you want to cancel, even if you dont. No point shouting at the tech guys that cant do anything but book you a new service call.

Say you want to cancel, wait to be passed through moan about being without viewing for a week, costs to you on phone and for missed viewing. You might get something and in the end if they say ok we will cancel you just say i want to think about it more and in the mean time rebook my service call

Could try resetting the LNB but unlikely to work if you have lost viewing on all channels

is it just saying no signal? we had this problem and it was our card try messing with card take it out for a bit and then out it back in and go to system menu and look at the signal strength and if it says u got card it

Your dish could have moved causing your signal strength to go down thus you not getting any channels

Well they are paid to keep you and have allowances to give you stuff to keep you... worth a try and as i say if they say ok we will cancel you just say no i want to have the service call and then ill cancel if it happens again. Have ti structure your arguement as to why you want to cancel i.e. inconvienence, cost to you, waste of time etc... No harm done if you dont get anything

had a bit of rain when it went down but that was only spitting.... they say lighting doesnt strike twice, 3 fucking times lol if thats the case..... Still going to get the engineer out and see what he says tho.

lol, well if it's sorted itself must be the weather or they were experiencing problems in your area, althrough like scott said phone up and say your leaving and moving to telewest as the have a new box like sky plus and there offering you a deal to get it for free,

the'll then offer you sky plus at a max price of 50 quid!!
