looks similar to rugby scum training, they use one at a local gym to me and the guys fight on UCMMA in London.

EVERYONE should use these in their training. Do more for leg development and all round fitness than just about any other apparatus in a gym!

Would you consider pushing/pulling a car to be good as well then?

pushing and pulling are the best ways to load your legs period. Although a prowler offers a superior position for maximal effort a car can have the same effects but of course the downside is the lack of adjustment in the resistance.

Sleds and prowlers should be in everyones training regime, I can tell when I start implimenting them more as my bodyfat begins to dissolve and my scale weight goes up not to mention my VO2 max. Even from a bodybuilding perspective they are invaluable as the eccentric-less muscular activity they give to the legs and glutes means gaining muscle is an unavoidable side effect.

I also realy rate tire flipping and sledge hammer swings. People need to start adding more explosive work to their workouts to help build muscle, power, speed and fitness.

Finding the space though isn't it. I'm interested in sledge hammer swings, didn't think it would do much other than endurance though because the hammers aren't that heavy are they?

You get yourself an old tire and a heavy sledge hammer and try it, they are more about explosive force production and help with shoulder health too. obviously the fitter and stronger you become your endurance will grow too, but again its another good one for increasing your metabolic rate and VO2 max, which in turn reults in a leaner, more efficient and muscular body.

dizzy!! my dad has a scrapyard so lots of old shitty cars, heavy car parts, sledgehammers tyres etc...

would it be an effective training method to go down there and basically fuck myself up pushing cars up the hill and maybe pulling stripped out cars that can be pulled etc?

There is an old tyre machine aswell which has a long steel bar you have to wrip the tyre off with, it takes a lot of pulling and is quite resistant!!

would it be a handy place to workout at evenings etc when nobody is about?

any ideas you could give I would be more than willing to try!!

that place would be heaven for me!! The emd of the day the human body is built for sprinting, fighting, clubbing things to death and dragging it home to eat so training should be loosely based on that if you wish to attain a well proportioned, fit and functional body that performs as good as it looks.

Look on youtube for prowler training, sledge hammer training, tornado ball training, tyre flipping. Diesel crew have lots of good ideas for functional training. 3 days functional and 2 days hypertrophy based bodybulding push pull style training would make you a great weekend warroir
