If i put a boat in the sea with a little hole, would it sink?
Depends where the little hole is, if its below or above the water line.

Depends where the hole was.

how far would the electric conduct?
Why have i never thought of this before?
G00d questi0n br0...but i dont know the answer
Wouldn't.
The plug would fuse and trip out, therefore, no electricity will be conducted.

it would depend on what sea you dropped it in because it varies due to the salinity(salt content) the more salt in the water the more the current would transmit
it does work:

Fuse would blow instantly. Same as in a bath. People only got killed from dropping electrical items in the baths back in the day.

this is the sort of answer I was after.

Correct, Theres not enough current to kill you even if it didnt blow a fuse.

You fucking real?!?!
Or just downs ..
If its coming off the fuse box(mains) then it will trip out if it goes in any kind of water, sea water salty or not!
Fucking idiot.
I know im right. DC Voltage would be different story, but AC voltage would trip instantly.
PM me a thanks if you want explaining how my knowledge is superior and how much you love me. K THANKS AND BYE x

No it would not mate as the fish aint earthed cant get zapped like u or me touching ground !!!!!!!!!!!!!!same as a live fish tank main voltage fish swimming about u touch the water bye bye fish are ok:y:
Erm please can you not put electrical items in the bath please guys. You only need to subject your heart to more than 10A for 10ms to start fibrillation.
House fuses take a while to trip out, obviously the more current drawn the quicker it will go, so a dead short it will trip pretty quick. In the region of 250ms for an average 13Amp fuse.
If you guys want to subject your heart to thousands of amps for a quarter of a second, go for it.
As for the OP, as electricity travels at the speed of light, the "electric" would travel a significant distance. It is due to the amount of the resistance in the water that would cause not much current to flow.

a fuse doesnt protect you from a electric shock, it protects the appliance, obv the fuse wood blow, but you wood get a shock for a fraction of a second, to stop you getting a shock you need a RCD :)
The RCD thats protecting the house, should be 100A 30mA this would stop you potentially getting an Electric Shock.
In answer to the question the not very far, if at all with the RCD cutting the power in about a maximum time of 200ms (Time alters depending on the tripping current of the device)
