What's the legality of running a proper splitter on the road?

I don't mean the Laguna type ones, I mean a full on ankle axe:

There must be a specified minimum edge radius etc to allow it to be road legal?

I'm planning on tracking my sax over the summer and since I've got some spare time on my hands (just finished uni) I fancy making one. Just for kicks and giggles more than anything. But if it's not gonna be road legal then I'll save my time and find something else to amuse me.

just had a thought

i dont see something like the one in that pic being a problem tbh

some of the body kits available look more dangerous..

Edit:- Could you make it easily detatchable.. say if you got pulled over for it, just undo a few bolts and pop it in the boot sorta thing?

Yeah I was planning on just drilling and bolting it to the underside of the front bumper so nothing a ratchet spanner couldn't sort at the road side.

*shops for plywood* :y:

couldnt find any actual info that might help, pretty much all my searches came up with:

"is it legal to drive without a bumper"..

which doesnt help, 'coz obviously it isnt legal lol

I dont see a problem with having one like that aslong as its remove'able at the road side if plod and his batton ask you to remove it nicely.. lol
