do you think its possible

there is what me and my family believe is an abandoned car outside my house,it is unlocked untaxed and has been there for two days.If the car does not belong to anyone because they havent claimed it after 7 days do you think it is possible to ask to claim the car myself as the council have to pay to scrap it so it would save them money?
any thoughts?

i think the car has to be unclaimed for a month before you can claim it. If its just at the side of the road though i'd move it as the police could just get it moved

black_rats right! - its one month, then obviously u need to spk to police, dvla all that sorta stuff, process is quite a long one, but i geuss if the cars worth it why not, but hey, guessing as its been abandoned im guessings its either stolen (so eventually owner will have it back) or its a complete heap which failed the MOT or something!

its a bmw 540i :P its 7 days before the vehicle is removed and its been parked up on the grass across the road,unlocked and no tax...hope i get it,bit of money to make there,flat tyres and broken wing mirror
