I think we will be going all out for a result today because if we get a good result weeve pretty much won league with only blackburn and blackpool left to play im gonna say united 3-1

Hopefully Chelsea hammer them

I'm a Newcastle fan and we play Chelsea next week, and i'm actually hoping (knowing) that Chelsea will beat us and pip Man U to the title

Chelsea are on form at the moment but only one team has taken a point from Trafford this season and that team was West Bromwich Albion.

United are going to slaughter them and win Champions league and Premier.

Herandez to bag 2.
Malouda to score 1.

Chelsea 2-1, United still need to think about the CL final I think that means more to them than the PL plus the title is theirs to loose.

We have nothing to loose and everything to gain the pressure is on them.

8th May 2011, 14:26
Think chelski will nip it.

Hopefully not from dodgy decisions again as this season deserves the title to be decided on great football rather than the twonk in the middle.

Neither team are playing very well I'm reality, chelski have had results recently with a fair bit of help from the man in the middle.

This. Dont mind us losing if it means Chelsea winning the title and we are confirmed safe now.

Then Barca to teach them a lesson in the CL final and Utd fans and manager crying about how the world is against them...

Torres to score the winner, 100%

Was gonna start a football thread.. Distinct lack of them lately.

Obviously Chelsea are only in this position because as Ryan pointed out they've been helped by the linesmen and referees.. Still.. Makes it more interesting, hoping for a Chelsea win to liven it up but don't see it happening, United are unbeatable at Old Trafford, literally. Even a chelsea win isn't a disaster.. obviously it opens the door a bit but they will still most likely win on goal difference.

Talking of the general weekend of football - Was pissed of yesterday.. Charlie Adam should of been sent of for his assault on Bale, second 'penalty' was a dive. Still.. Spurs been nose diving since champions league exit.

On champions league.. I think Man Uniteds full strength team is very strong.. Whether or not they can best Barca though I don't think so.. But if anyone can it's certainly them.

This isn't going to go well for Chelsea

I don't rate David Luiz, he always seems a bit dodgy when it comes to defending which is pretty bad considering that's his job!

Man Utd look like there going to Embarass Chelsea

I rate luiz, think he was a very good buy. However he does make mistakes and Needs to learn from them.

Problem is that defenders can't make mistakes because when they do someone scores and Chelsea can't afford that in this type of game.
Should have started Alex imo

If Man U play like this against Barca they will win the champions league.

Heard it here first.

Infinitely impressed with this so far.

Luiz has got great pace, needed against Hernandez.

If you look at the game at the bridge he single handedly got chelski the 3 points with the way he broke down the united attack time and time again (albeit if he should have been sent off)

No coming back now for Chelsea :(

Ryan
8th May 2011, 15:32
Would like a 3rd before half time :)

United are a much much better side without berbatoss and having pace with Valencia and park. That's what has been lacking in their football this season. A lot of its been to slow grind out rather than the old style of fast attacking football.

Unbelievable.. Howard Webb as the referee and hasn't sent Ivanovic off for that.. Maybe he doesn't want to live up to his reputation of being that referee that favours united and dishes out the cards etc.

Doesn't make it right though.

Got someone I know whinging about Rooney in luiz saying the same old Howard Webb being told to go easy on united.. Seems to want to ignore ivanovic when mentioned lol.

Luiz has cut down on the body checks today though.

Gutted, Chelsea have thrown it away

On the plus though, i just stuck 50 quid on Man U to win the title @ 7/4 on Bet365.. If you're plannin it, do it now before the game finishes and the odds change

It's a dead cert really, they should win this game, and only need 1 point from their last 2 to seal it.. Man U have Blackburn away, and Blackpool at home.. If they fuck up at Blackburn, they will still surely get a win at home to relegation-zone Blackpool

Chelsea have Newcastle at home, then Everton away

It's pretty much certain, i stuck £50 on and i'll get £87.50 back plus my original £50...was actually debating putting a grand on it but fuck that i would kill myself if i lost

Games more interesting now.

United have sat back and got sloppy. Ironic that the goal was set up from someone who shouldn't be on the pitch.

I think the people (including myself at times) that claim united get all the decisions will keep stuhm today.. This game should be dead and buried.. Ivanivoic should be sent of and two penalties.. and amazingly the denying referee is Webb!

2 - 1 flatters Chelsea today imo.

Peter_D
8th May 2011, 16:37
Damn i'm tryin to convince my Mam to lend me money but shes having none of it!

If i put £10,000 on Man U to win the title, you get £17,500 back

So i'd then put £5,715 on Chelsea to win, to get back £15,716

So if Chelsea somehow manage to pip Man Utd, you win £15,716...but you've spent £10,000 on the Man U game which is lost, and your £5,715 from the Chelsea game you get back. So if Chelsea win it, you are still £5,716 in profit

But if Man U win it, you win £17,500, and you get back your £10,000 from that bet, but you lose the £5,715 from the Chelsea bet, so you are still £11,785 in profit

So either way you are gonna gain either £11,785...or £5,716...with £11,785 being the most likely winner

All the top sides get the odd decision. United get a lot against them though an awful lot. Then when they get one everyone harps on about it for 5 years or so.

Mams trying to tell me theres some sort of catch with what i've said above? She said it can't work like that as if it did then millionaires would be putting that bet ^ on with millions of pounds to guarantee huge profit...anyone got any idea about this? As she was thinking about it

Talking of bets I saw this on the BBC website;

"From Andy, Bolton, on text: "I've had 30 quid on every Premier League team to score this weekend, just need a goalfest at Old Trafford for £6,127, don't care who wins."

Jammy git.

Ryan

Hopefully that's 19 in the bag, and two fingers to the usual anti united bandwagon.

Made it very nervy last half hour when in reality chelski were out classed in every aspect today.

Now all I'm hoping for is the yids have a good run to the end of the season and Stoke take the fa cup.

Get in, massive result for us. We need to get the point next week to seal the title, put the reserves out against blackpool to give them a chance of staying up, then use the big guns for the CL final.

That's gonna cause problems..

I can see both sides.. the other teams threatened with relegation won't be happy if Blackpool stay up at the cost of another team because united fielded the reserve side.. But at the same time it should be the managers decision who he fields.. He's there to decide the tactics after all.. :detective:

Aye seen that now, i only put 50 quid on

My Mam is convinced that i'm wrong about my other post, you got any idea how it works? The one where i worked out you could bet on both Man U and Chelsea to win the title, and profit either 11k or 5k either way, no chance of losing.. Mam says it wont work but surely it will? If i've made the bet, thats it final

Too late now anyway :'(

^ Not quite yet.....but pretty much certain

Hopefully anyway or i've wasted 50 quid

Pissed off my Mam wouldn't trust me about the bet i was on about above ^ Guaranteed atleast 5k +, with the most likely one being 11k +, we could of split it

Now the odds are shit, sticking 10k on Man U now only wins you a tenner!! Stupid bitch

GJF47
8th May 2011, 21:23
But will Utd get fined if they field a reserve team against Blackpool? Its happened to Blackpool themselves and to Wolves so only right it should happen to Utd. Not that it would matter to them of course, the CL final is way more important.

Unlucky on the bet Peter, at least you'll get a bit of cash just not a few k :y:

Peter_D
8th May 2011, 21:28
A few grand would of been amazing, instead of a measly 85 quid or something

If my Mam would of listened she could of even put like 50 grand on what i said, and would of came out with a minimum 25 grand profit, or 55 grand profit, arghhh
