Howdy
Hope this isnt a repost but im looking for an answer off any of you lovely members. Basically what bhp is the 106 xsi and what engine? iirc theres a 1.4 and a 1.6 with 5 bhp difference according to some websites i've looked at, But im struggling to understand to be honest lol :panic:. Are they any good? is it the 106 equivalent to a vtr or faster slower? Cheers:drink:
I was drawn to this thread hoping it was going to be a geeky discussion about glasses

Good little cars, i used to have one goin back a few years, it was a 1.4 XSi had 137k on the clocks, but the engine was still going strong, decent little cars tbh
and there pretty quick for what they are, basicly identical to a VTR speedwise

the 1.4xsi is anice little motor actually. fairly nippy. same powwer as the rallye. but less lairy. the 1.6 uses the same motor as the phase 2 rallye, the 1.6 is more torquey midrange but id rather a 1.4 as the management is better, and the early ones were non cat cars too. only the very last were the 1.6s oh and the tax is cheaper so id rather have the 1.4 if i could find another for 400 id snap it up.
btw ive got a 1.6 xsi and had a few 1.4s and now a couple of jp4 xsi's.
oh and had a couple of rallyes.........
