Anyways im on 106owners but thought seeing as i know a few people i thought id share over here

Im no stranger to 106's... love them to bits literally being 19 and owning 3 seems pretty good

one being the 1.1 gti rep i made then had a quicksilver then this bad boi...

it needed some TLC every where but was quite a nice base as it was basically standard aprt from a 16v engine

i did like it at the time even though it was against alot of rallye owners but still i liked it what else matters

After not having much money for ages and paying for tax i thought i would show how i wanted it to look so heres a photo shop

black 1.2s in 16" which i didnt really want i just really wanted some new wheels so poped them on then

fan belt broke and i needed a new alternator tensioner...so i got these fixed abit expensive for my liking but obv had to be done so it did

SCREWING.. for me being a student and everything i knew it was going to have to be like that for a while as i just couldnt afford to fix it at the time...

after deciding what i needed it was as follows...

New door
rear quarted filled as it wasnt that bad luckly !!
wing poped back out and filled
new mirror

the whole side needed some work which i was sooooooo gutted about!

So i had to find a new door and quotes from a bodyshop

some one was breaking a gti with no door strips only down my road! LUCKY or what!!
so also took the spoiler and battery box aswell

My car stayed like this for about 3 months.... yes thats me driving arounf for 3 months with people thinking look at that batterd car

but i knew it would be in for a mahoooooosive treat came more sunny dayss

oh yehh but also it looked like this cause i was bored with my headlights
got abit of haters about from rallye owners but it was only a temp thing

well this is the last 2 pictures i took of it going in take note

NEW exhaust and mirrors and theres a new door in the back of the car



After a long hard think i decided to get the whole car resprayed as otherwise one side of the car would be like brand new and the otherside wasnt so the question was colour??

I know being a rallye i should of stayed indigo but i was paying out alot of money to get it sprayed so i at least wanted people to know it had the money spent on it...

soo ive always wanted a cherry gti and soo seeing as there are only rallyes in differnt countries being red i thought why not just have it the cherry red from the s1 i meen its still a rallye colour ryt???

So i got the paint code told the bodyshop what i wanted with one big FAT LIST and here it iss..........

Now the decisions... i meen yeh its a cherry rallye but i like how it looks now and im getting some gloss black decals made up

but it still isnt really rallye so choices on what i should do i thought about rallye steelies but might look out of place??

I really am happy with how it looks at the moment but i just want some "rallye'ness" back

Morrettes have been purchased I think it says. The exhaust was my old one, didn't hear any bitchy comments about that when I had it, just compliments on the way it sounded, I even want it back.

Think the plans are for Rallye Steels to be purchased as well wasn't it Nino? also Black Rallye decals bought.

Good luck with the car pal. People need to stop jumping on the Bandwagon on both 106oc and Saxp. Tbf it looks stupidly awesome and sounds the same as well.

ryan had an S1 shell which he put up for sale, nobody wanted it so he scrapped it and people were crying because he was letting an old rusty shell go to waste lol.

i like them standard looking, but realistically it's not worth losing sleep over if i never got to own one.

The point of the saxo mirrors is simply the are much more studier? than the 106 mirrors and simply tuck in abit more with the way they curve

the tinted lights where because of something that was on them before so they would of just got chucked in the bin!

the headlights where only a temp job....

and the wheels looked good on the blue i think more

so there is your answers to many of the questions but anyway the amount of money ive put into this to make it my own car is what truely matters

well that post was yday! THIS IS TODAY :)

Well Update :D :

So the morettes where to get fitted today and so i was quite looking forward to get the black eyes off lol..

So a job that normally takes me 20mins took a bloody lot longer including a trip to homebase with the cars front bumper off :worried:

So cleaned up all the lights as they where abit dirty and t cutted them :) took them apart checked them then realised i need to make some brackets to support them :suspicious:

thought they all ready had them but obv not! sooo i thought i live round the corner from homebase so they must have somthing i can adapt to fit if you get me and these where quite handy :)

I always loved the meaner look these lights give off!

So job done! with one issue they need a respray as there is some paint cracking so while my car is at the bodyshop next time, i shall re take them back off and get them resprayed and then fit them all over again :oh:

Still better than the black things :nuts:

I think your Black theme would look even better with it being Red now.

and people that get all nostalgic about Rallyes, the S2's only a GTI shell less Power Steering and a bit of weight taken out, never seen what all the fuss is about when people say your "ruining it" by so much as giving it a wash.

Other than that, like what you've done so far, keep it up.

Well this is it dirty :p

This week its getting some touch ups done at the body shop
along with the bonnet recess lifted up as it bends to low

Also the morette covers will be getting a fresh lick of paint as one of them has seen better days :D

FCS Biggish update:

DAY 1!! :p

well i wanted to get a few things done before FCs but thought id only write them up when there done so here was the list
Paint all round calipers
New wheels
New decals
Engine bay a quick colour match up
Clean
Polish
MAchine polish and Wax
Hoover up
Of course the wheels and decals were the main thing so....


I picked up some 15's finally! not the steelies i wanted as i couldnt find any but i think i made the right choice
Speedling Comp 2s in an ok conditon i spose

So fitting these i thought calipers may aswell get done at the same time so here you go

They really do look 100% better than they did!


So now with the wheels out the way and looking alot better sitting on 15's i had the mahooooooooooooooosive ball ache of fitting the decals which i got of the guy on the RR which are top notch products!

Managed to get this corbeau seat :)

I always said if i chaged the seats it would have to be buckets cause its a rallye! and i got this ONE yes just one lol to see if they are ok just for everyday use and well
yessss i luv it!... i meen yeh its abit batterd with a few rips but i just wanted the feel for one so didnt care aha!

You get pulled ryt into the seat and dont move!... the seat gives such a better feel and nice drive of the car :)...
thats about it really as i luv the way it looks now...
.... but i did manage to get some standard rear lights back on aswell... if you didnt notice :p

Update :) :

Well as some of you know and didnt like i was looking for a showcage!... i shall tell you the reason for it and thats simply because i use my car everyday and its my only car so a full rollcage would just not be ideal with also being impratical and plus i like the comfort of my rear seats if you know what i meen ;)

so of corse the route which i took was for a showcage!...

fitted it again being white and i really do like it! the view from the side looks good with the white wheels so i dont care if people say its a rallye and all that crap! lol

And also just a little addition i picked up a free parcel shelf, cause my mate knew i didnt want my 6x9s there so now it looks like so...

Update:

Well this is simply a audio update :)

I needed some new door speakers and mine always blew so i went for these very good infinitys of caraudiosecurity

80 watt rms EACH and not that it matters but 225 max

and then i needed to upgrade my amp as i needed a 4 channel amp to run my sub aswell...
so i had a word with Mikol as he knows what hes talking about :p and he was talking about his and how it was very very good, so guess what i found on ebay......... the exact same one :D
(i did spend alot more than i wanted to aswell but oh well lol)

Also got some new rca leads as mine had just broke:(

I also needed to split the phono's as my headunit only had 1 set of pre outs, so a trip to halfords later and only £5 more out of pocket i could finally wire it up

And WOW my sub has only ever had 300 watts pumping into it and now just with this new amp it feels like a new sub

Best set-up IMO... Front comps and a sub both amped with nothing in the middle :)

I just need to fiddle with the amp abit more as the bass is making my ears bleed! :p
and a small flase floor so it can all get bolted down ! :D
(And before anyone says its a rallye your not allowed AUDIO... I need my DUBSTEP in my life.)

But like i said i want to get more standard now aswell i dont think the morette's suit the wheels personally! but it shall be left like this for a little while...
I think it would benefit with a set of 60mm springs on the front to, as the rear sits lower than the front...
Just who knows of having a 60mm drop on 185/60/14's? i think it will scrape as soon as i turn the wheel?

Anyways i Luv the steels and the tyres and just mentall! (on the look for center caps ;) )

Recommend the tyres alot!

Well as i wanted bucket seats i found a pair i eventually liked for a price i couldnt refuse aswell! so instead of fixed buckets i got recliners as i like the feeling of have both of them lay down flat so on with the pics :D

Next day i fitted them and took my HID's out as these lights apparntly affect the beam patter so didnt wana blind people and soo here they are fitted

I had been looking for a set of cyclones for a while with the right size tyres, then i managed to find these which were caked in dirt, oil and the wrong colour (sadly didnt get pictures) and after a few hours cleaning and t-cutting resorted in this

Had a trial fit anyways and i like the darker metallic red... i think it kinda works ! looks better than the picture by far!

S1 Red Rallye Carpet.... Drove to Coventry to collect this from 'jona bona' i think his username is!
really happy with it and his cars are amazing!!! made me realize how nice s1's can be ....

As you can see its mint! just a tiny bit darker on the passenger side, but you cant even notice to be honest

I recently got fed up of driving around with no HID's as mine broke a few months back and the other day i finally bought a new set costing £85! :unsure:

Thinking they were going to come a few days ago when i had my day off work they didnt and then they turned up today!

But i wanted to fit them before work...

Okay well i got the parts fitted and resprayed a few things to tidy them up

I started of with the induction by spraying the chrome bit white and simply taped around the black 90 degree bend in red tape just to make it look fresh!
Came out pretty well i think

my saxo ones i didnt like anymore.....then the 106 ones that are on now which were freshly resprayed had a chipped mirror.. so now i have these ones just need to swap my cherry caps on to them :)

And also grabbed the center heater as mine broke months ago...

You also can see the 2 bumper strips that will some how make it on to my car so i will smooth the number plate recess off!

Cant wait wanted to do it for so long.... :idea:

Stretched rallye steels butttt after a long day i got a refund off luke cause i bought them thinking there was 4 wheels when in actuall fact it was just the rears and i wanted all matching tyres so i gave them back :(

but anyways

I wanted my car to be like what i said a smooth rallye with a twist so here comes the twist!

As you can see this involves

Front number plate recess smooth and extended
Spoiler removed
Holes smoothed off
Rear wash goneeee and smooth
rear bumperstrip slits smooth

also while i was there i also got

Mirrors resprayed again as i wasnt happy
fog holes colour coded red
Under all 4 arches re sprayed as my wheels caught them alot
and a few other niggly things

resulting in this :D
