PS3 Trade-in

Basically my fat-ps3 is slooowwwllyy on its way out, it's not freezing all the time, but now & then FIFA & GTA4 freeze.

Can I trade it in for a slim model? If so, how much more would I have to pay for the slim (120Gb)?



PS. No 360 suggestions pweez, I'd rather chew my own fisces.

And I just thought of this right now, how am I going to transfer all my data like savegames, music, photos etc from this old fat PS3 to the new slim one..?

Will a USB stick suffice? Or do I buy an external HDD, backup the stuff from my old PS onto it, whack the hard drive into the new schlim and copy?

i would of though back it up to an external and then load on to the new one.
but i dont know lol.

nothing wrong with them, but just thought they would of been more enjoyable than ive found them. what a waste of money they were lol.

usb stick will do fine if you have one big enough to store everything if not a hdd will be best bet

Any particular type/make of External HDD to buy? Or will any do?

Any external harddrive should be fine, you might just have to format it to fat32 if its in ntfs (i think the ps3 needs fat32 any way?).
