hi there guys. aster breaking my much loved saxo i decided for go to a buit of german/ spanish reliability and get a ibiza. problem is how much of a good car it is and how easy it is to fix and use ot lacks the smile factor :(.

so in august i plan on getting a better faster car. august being enough time to save some £££, time to sell my current ibiza, my 20th is in august plus my 2nd year no claims bonus and my 2 year 6 months ive owned my licence.

Suggestions on cars i can get

RULES
must be over 100hp
budget of 1200
modifiing budget of just over 1500 as well including paint work etc
must be fun
diesiel or petrol dont care
not a saxo

the contendors so far
Fiat punto gt turbo
Honda civic CRX del sol
peugeot 306 1.9 tdi

Del Sols ain't fun IMO, they weigh too much for the engine in them.

I'd say just a CRX VTEC would be so much more fun.

Your an M3 wannabe fanboi.

Seeing as I have the best bits of both the 3.0 and a the 3.2 I think I'm doing quite well tbh :A:

Have you got either an S50 or an S52??

Regardless of what yours has fitted,it will never be an M3.

You should just sell up and buy an M3 before you keep suggesting that every1 gets 1.lol.

MiniGibbo
15th May 2011, 19:15
Built an s52 but sold all the bits and returned my m52 to basic spec.

S50 is tempting but I plan to run more power than that can take and a engine built to run boost is always better than a boosted engine and all that jazz..

Yer I know it'll never be an m3 not the first time I've had that said to me tbh, but then it's always funny when i get asked at track days if it's a 3.0 or 3.2 and I say "no dude it's a 323" LOL :D

Clio Sport 172, Polo GTi, Punto HGT, Civic Ek4, Mazda 323f, MG ZR 1.8 160, 206 GTI, 306 GTi6, Corsa Sri. There are loads more, some of these are in the 2 and a half total budget others are in the 1200 budget. If i was you i would spend the 2 and a half and then mod it bit by bit as you get the cash.

As I have said mate - if you wanna diesel get a golf tdi as you can't go far wrong otherwise at the budget you've got you'll be looking at things like corsa's, 106's and saxo's unless you want an older car

Sounds like a good collection there :)

As for a m3 can you get a half decent one for that price? Further more it's got to be used day to day as well. A m3 doesn't cut it there

I know countless owners that use m3's daily? theyre ideal, theyre comfortable and return average mpg..

Really? Ant they like 3.0 petrol?
I was considering something such as a golf gt tdi perhaps lowered with wider wheels. Fun and quick? With a large fmic?

MiniGibbo
18th May 2011, 16:29
the m3's come in

2.3
2.5
3.0
3.2
4.0

So far..

Theyre not cheap for maintaince most parts carrying the "M" tax, and need more regular servicing and 98ron fuel but do return high 30's mpg on the 6 speeders crusing..
