when changing my clutch a while back i think i snapped off the 2pin plug on my oil sensor , i have been running the car for a while but lately its making a funny noise .

i am not saying its anything to do with this , to me it sounds like its blowing from some where . possibly the manifold . anyhow just wondering what the oil sensor does as i dont have any indication on the dash .

i am pretty sure it is the oil sensor i have snapped , its at the fron of the engine down near the sump .

well, its an oil switch, it will only tell you something when there is no oil pressure (when theres no oil in the engine) a sensor, on the other hand constantly tells you what pressure is in the galleries, (it will be a dial with a needle pointing to what ever pressure) i wouldnt worry too much about it, just make sure you always have oil in the engine and that will do you no harm

nah im not fussed if its only a switch. just someone said it might have give a type of feedback to the engine for fuel mixtures etc. see i dont know enough about cars to know if it was true or not so i thought best ask on here
