they do hurt but the pain is hard to describe.depends where it is though. on bone yes indeed, on fatty/ muscly parts not so much. if the tattoo means something to you the pain can be soothing.

im in the process of removin one of mine, one i got when i was 15, was young and silly. Im using the ole' key method, heat it up white hot with a lighter then jab the tattoo'd skin, probs wont work but its arousing

Not got one yet, should be gettin it done this summer. Having a butterfly on left lower stomach. Will be near my hip bone, so pain will have to be kept away, i'll be fine, cant be any worse than other pain i have felt.

I have a tribal thing with a rose over it on the right hand side of my lower back, its quite small, but i found out i have a really low pain threshold as i passed out from the pain 3 times while it was being done & was really ill because of it! altough I have piercings that i didnt even feel being done!
