i have a 1.4 peugeot 206 2002 model.. ( I belive it the same engine as a 1.4 saxo which is why im asking on here )
and when i drove it erlier i pressed down on the clutch and it felt as if it slipped and was still pulling in that gear..
i got it home had a look at it pumped the clutch a few times and then it went into gear perfectly.
I then reversed out of my drive and as i pulled it out of reverse it wouldn't go into any gear.. so i pumped the clutch a few times again and it went into gear fine and drove round the block perfectly..

any idea's ??

i dont understand how this could happen as i think its a clutch cable not hydrolic :s

Broken gear linkage maybe?

Otherwise it may be your release bearing..

Likely the clutch cable needs to be a bit shorter thus allowing the clutch to disengage fully. It sound like it is dragging. Is your biting point very low? Once tensioned biting point will be higher - try to get it around the middle. If you overtension the cable you will put undue load on the release bearing and in extreme circs the clutch will tend to slip.

nah its around the middle and i have found out that its a spring on the clutch plate or something like that they have a thing for poping out of place and poping back in every now and again apparently common fault on 206's..
thanks anyway tho
