Anyone got a link to some decentish 10cm speakers. The rears are farting a bit at me so bought some cheap crap ones on eBay that had an rms of more than 45w but they're pretty poo.

My stereo output is 45wx4 so need to have an rms higher than that.
Only looking to spend about £20-30, doesn't need loads of bass as I have a sub fitted anyways
Cheers

first of all, you need to learn what RMS is.

- A speaker is only as loud as the amplifier powering it. in this case, its your headunit. Using a set of speakers able to handle more power doesn't mean they'll be louder or even any better.
- secondly, your headunit doesn't have an output of 45x4RMS, thats its MAX output figure. Realistically it's output is only around 12 - 15wrms.

for the actual speakers. Don't expect miracles from £30. for this price, you'd probably be able to find some form of JBL coaxial's, which will be decent enough.

also something worth mentioning; you should invest your money on front speakers rather than rear ones ideally. there are various reasons why, but the main one is; sound quality is heard at the front of the car, because thats where you sit.

with a decent set of front speakers and a sub booming away. you don't even hear the rear speakers, which is probably why you think theyre crap.

Finally, your problem of them "farting" isn't down to the quality of your speakers. it's down to the settings on the headunit youre running them from. Components / coaxial speakers aren't designed to handle bass, so when you have a setting on the headunit of "bass +3" for example, they will just sound horrible. set the bass lower on the headunit, and adjust the LPF filter on the amp running the sub to "on", this will enable the sub to play the sub frequencies, and the speakers to play the mids and hi's without distortion.

I know all that. Ill be upgrading door speakers aswell.

rears were farting and new ones arent clear at all. put my ear next to them to see with one in one side and old one in the other
