That was today.
We:
stripped out all interior, sound deadening, seats, carpet, plastic trim. Everything. Then put in one bucket & harness, Dash.
Then got to fit other bucket & harness, then remove headlining too!

I think we are keeping that, and then running some plastic door cards in the shape of rallye door cards.
can not wait to see the outcome,

Dont go expecting something special outside or inside.

How many times have you been to the ring and what experience of it do you have?
I won't lie because if its non and you aim 10 mins you will die.
You will struggle at around £600, mine ended up owing me more and I had a full VTS sat there as there is so many unforseen things you have to get past, like the usual wear and tear items end up around £100 (you can do with out spending but needs must)
Good luck with it thou.

Im with loud and proud on this
If youve not been aiming at times is stupid
especially in something built on such a short time scale on a shoestring as there will allways be problems
Look st events like ppc 999 challenge thats a 1k budget and still most competing cars in it arent road worthy
Your shell looks to be in a pretty bad way if even the bonnet is blistering up aswell
I wish you the best of luck though and hope you dont hurt yourself
Best of luck with this guys, have to see the outcome on this

I've never been, and Ian has been once.
I'm not going to try too hard for the 10 mins, its more the fun. The main challenge will be to get it ready & make it to and from the ring.

Day 1
Collection
Well with me and rich alive and kick we eagerly set off to collect the mighty 1.1 still being unsure what we would find when we arrive in the darkest depths of birmingham rich was looking bright eyed and bushy and sporting some amazing sun glasses,
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v112/intraphase/Track%20car%20challenge/IMG_20110521_111935.jpg
the car is far from perfect exterior wise but its so with no structural rust so the deal was done and I become the the owner of the shed,
From bigging up the car we then headed to the other side of birmingham to over by dudley to collect the new heart
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v112/intraphase/Track%20car%20challenge/IMG_20110521_151210.jpg
So with everything collected it was homeward bound and work started in earnest but before that happened a few pics were taken

and rich only dreaming
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v112/intraphase/Track%20car%20challenge/IMGP4390.jpg
and shortly after was left with this
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v112/intraphase/Track%20car%20challenge/IMGP4388.jpg
suprisingly the inside is really clean with no rust in the normal places rust likes to hide
and what came out

with me and rich being on a roll we tackled the next job

I heard this news about the implementation of this new label for all vehicles. The news also informs that the new fuel economy will help consumers take advantage of the increase efficiency standards. A big help for all people, because we all know that the price of fuel are increasing. The United States Department of Energy last week revealed its brand new label style. The new labeling will be needed for all 2013 cars and light trucks. The brand new marking process will for the 1st time rate total environmental influence also as projected yearly fuel expenses. I found this here: New labels required for 2013 vehicles, cardealexpert.com/news-information (http://www.cardealexpert.com/news-information/auto-news/new-vehicle-labels-2013/)

I'd have just bought a standard VTS. Theres loads of high milers going for £500 these days...
Yeah, so its cuts half the work out, hence more the fun! But I just would have out of simplicity!
Or i'd have bought a clapped out 200SX...

I don't think the £600 will cover the 10 yards of armco you'll probably take out chasing a sub 10 min lap at the 'ring ;)
Good luck anyway!
