i changed the spark plugs on my vtr and now it misfires ive found the problem there is oil leaking onto the spark plug (only 2 of them) ive tried a number of times but they wont seal can i use anything to help a seal or is it likely to be something else causing the problem

Oil? There shouldn't be oil anywhere near them.

So if there is you have another problem.

As for the sealing, do they have the washer seals on them?

they got the rings and the plugs are new so its not the plug itself but they are caked in oil so the car has no power and sounds like an impreza (if it didnt pull like a pedal bike i wouldnt mind lol) probably a really stupid question but would i fuck anything up if i put a bit of exhaust sealant round the plug

You shouldn't need to put anything 'round them, I'm very worried about where that oil is coming from?

Is the oil on the part of the plug that has the coil lead/pack on it?
Or inside the engine on the plug tips?
If its the later id say you have a valve stem seal piston ring problem.
Do you get blue smoke out the xhaust or use much oil?

sounds like the oil is pooring out of your rocker cover/head and stoping a proper contact with the coil pack, if they are covered in oil its nothing to do with how they are sealing. oil won't come up through the spark plug hole.

oil is on both sides i have just resealed the rocker cover and drained some oil out (was just above maximum) but its still misfiring really badly im just gonna sell as spares as it has some other minor bits anyway

+1 i`d go for this option as well, you sure you haven`t overfilled the oil?
