Mud flaps?

I've seen a few Saxo's with mud flaps on. I am quite fund of them and think it add's a great visual look.

What do you guys think of them?

I think the use of mud flaps (http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/mud_flaps~pop.html) would depend on the kind of car that is used. They would definitely be appropriate for rally-style cars.
