Afternoon All !!!
In the office today listening to some tunes today I asked myself (not out loud lol) who was the best band I've seen live.
I've seen a few bands live including Foo Fighters, My Chemical Romance, Iron Maiden, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Funeral for a Friend, Taking Back Sunday, Jimmy Eat World, Alkaline Trio, Rise Against, Spunge, Feeder to mention a few and bizzarley looking at that list, Lady GaGa (took my fiance as a crimbo gift, have to admit shes got a good voice).
Out of my list, the one I enjoy'd most was probably Foo Fighters, although Iron Maiden and My Chemical Romance put on great shows and Funerla for a Friend a great live.
So, whos the best band / group / singer you've seen live ?

Oddly enough Lady Gaga was real good live.
Other than that Chemical Brothers know how to put on a show.
Reel Big Fish were awesome, as were Bowling for Soup and A...
Anyone remember that band from the 90s...."A" They rock.

Funeral For a Friend are one of my favourites. Seen them 4 times now, and just get better (Although the last couple of albums, before Welcome Home Armageddon weren't great). Rage Against the Machine were pretty good live, as were Tenacious D.
Feeder are an amazing band live in terms of quality. They just sound great. Stereophonics are quite similar.

Great thread! Best band I have seen live is Muse at Wembley Stadium 2010. I was not a muse fan, but seriously, live they are absolutely electric, and you see why people love them so much. Kasabian live are great too.
So far in no particular order I have seen Muse, Kasabian, Jamie T(first gig, was epic), Plan B, Maverick Sabre, Chase & Status, Pendulum, YMA6, 30secs2mars, Enter Shikari, BBK, Skream, Katy B, Benga, Biffy Clyro, Creamfields 2011 my first festival, caught everyone I wanted to see expect for Deadmau5. With the festival season coming, and going to IOW festival and Creamfields, my list will grow further no doubt. Cannot wait. I have probably missed some people I have seen too.

One of my local bands called Wolvves, who I put a gig on for, played at some festival in Edinburgh with Razorlight on the bill. I couldn't get the time off work sadly, but I really want too see Razorlight. Sure that will be a great gig to work at :y:
One thing that I'm gutted about is I'm never gonna see the original lineup of Paramore

If I wasn't at IOW then I would go to that! Great price, for two of my favourite bands, Razorlight and The Cribs. Noisettes, not too fussed about seeing, but I bet they would be good, so too Los Campesinos.
What is the turn out for a festival like this? considering is not one of the well known ones. I like the lineup for SW4 this year, looks great.

GLITP used to be 20,000 a day. Then SW4 got switched to two days so thats now 40,000 all weekend. I think this years GLITP is only 10,000-15,000 tickets as its a relaunch of the brand so not exactly tiny.
SW4 shall be good, my 4th year.

That's a pretty hefty amount of people for a London based festival tbf. I'm doing Creamfields again this year, just as last year I had a really good time. Plus Example is playing, can't wait for that. But SW4 is definitely on the cards for next year, considering the line up this year, sure it will just snowball with more publicity, getting bigger and better.

SW4s not a new festival, its about 8-9 years old now and is a pretty big one on the radar. Just look at the acts over the last few years. The guys who run it are one of the biggest events companies around, doing stuff for Eric prydz, armin, bedrock, PVD etc... aswell as their own nights the gallery/together etc..

True, I think alot of people just bypass it however, well people that I know anyway. It's either Reading festival or nothing in their eyes lol. What's the general price of Alcohol at SW4 out of interest?

Agree on Reading being a completely different crowd. I think that alot of people have on specific genre then stick to it. I happily go to loads of different types of gigs/festivals, don't see why you should limit yourself to, I only like this or that. I could happily go to IOW, Reading or Glasto. Or SW4, Creamfields, Global, I could even go and enjoy Sonisphere or Download too.
One of my factors of going to Creamfields over Global, is the drinks policy lol :drink::A:

i used to go to creame fields every year seen some proper good sets and people just a shame really that as it grew it got full of scally knobs that stab people when you get outside the grounds or as a mate found out was pulled to one side by a group of lads was robbed of every thing but his t-shirt and pants and then was given a jab of smack to so he wouldnt report it, not been since that happened
Cannot wait till October time to see Enter Shikari, Your Demise and letlive.
Gonna cause carnage at that gig.
The best i've seen would be Metallica. They were fucking immense.
Enter Shikari are, sound wise, fairly poor imo. However it didn't seem to matter. The crowd went nut's and it just made the whole experience amazing.
My Chemical Romance are good. As are 36 Crazyfists, Atreyu, Offspring. Still Remains were very good when i saw them. Sadly no longer together now :(

Aye, saw 36 Crazyfists and was epic as well. Only about 100 people there as well. Best story of any gig for me comes there.
Opening act, they're crap and no-one apart from a few liked them, the singer was fat, and wore such skinny clothes it looked awful. Well after a while he jumps onto a speaker, to jump into the crowd. What he didn't expect after he jumped was the crowd moved out the way and he fell flat on his face. After that he was dazed and a mosh pit formed around him and he got stuck in it. The bassist had to jump in the crowd and hit a few people to get the singer back lol.

Paramore by far the best. seen them about 7 or 8 times, always epic!
Best one was before they were huge and got to meet them because of the fansite i was on, gave them presents from thw whole forum. Hayley hugged me :D
Also Mumm-ra were another awesome band, not together any more though.

Ocean colour scene. I've also seen iron maiden and the Stereophonics. Iron maiden very very good but stereophonics were pretty boring tbh
