Hi,

I have Sony XM-5540F (4x60 RMS) amplifier (http://amp-performance.de/163-Sony-XM-5540F.html) and I want to put on it some component speakers front ( midbass in doors and tweeters somewhere on board) and subwoofer in trunk.

This amplifier is not so powerful, just enough for these component speakers (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160557057561) from the link and some smaller subwoofer.

Can you suggest me some subwoofer (10" or 12") and how big box for it should be (volume in litres)?

And what do you think about this configuration - front component and subwoofer in back?

I know it's not a power because of limited amplifier power, but I couldn't come up with better solution.

amplifier will be able to power a set of speakers and a sub together

those speakers are shocking though.

if you get a chance, get some proper sound deadening - second skin damplifier pro for example.

not sure how big your budget is. but as an example, this sub and box is pretty decent. http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/13722.html the size of the box is pretty well matched to that sub

Sorry, but I didn't undertstand you best. You say this Sony amp is ok but these Phase Linear CF 130.25 components are bad or good speakers?

I was thinking about some another additional amp just for subwoofer in future. For now just this Sony amp will work.

This JL sub seems ok, but i can't find any of these at my local stores (I'm not from UK and don't have online payment card).

What do you think about this Marathon 10" (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/12/vuferi.jpg/) sub (don't have any spec or other image) and this MAC BP box (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/864/subbox.jpg/) ???

This Marathon 10" (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/64/marathon10.jpg/) sounds quite all right but I would have to buy or build box for it. I assume 18l volume will be quite enough but I'm not sure about the shape because of angle of rear seats?

Waht do you think about this Magnat 10" Sub? It has quite small box (30x30x35cm) and 150W RMS 4 Ohms.
