The price of your insurance is also determined where you live?

Try it yourself.

Use your address and someone else's address when you get a quote.

There could be a few hundred quid between it..

To save embarrassment, i'll say yeh, it was a joke ;)

but until the other week I had no idea. here was only half a mile between our houses and yet the insurance was a few hundred quid different..

Postcode is fair though, it's easy to go on statistics, which is all insurance is. Saying that, the amount it can change for tiny movements in location can be ludicrous at times.

I thought everyone was aware of this and was one of the basics to know with insurance.

Its annoying for me, just 1 mile away and the postcode is different and is a few hundred cheaper than my postcode which is pretty shit for statistics.

Someone with a different postcode across the road can have insurance half as expensive as yours, its that gay.

Does your age affect it tooo?

I'm going to try putting in i'm 17 for one and 35 again, exact same quote just the age difference. See if that makes any difference!!

Insurance has to be calculated using statistics because insurance companies can't see into the future to see how good of a driver you are going to be over the next 60 odd years

IM a b as well, although if i say i park the car in a secure private car park with armed guards the cost goes up, so i now park my car on my drive and its £50 cheaper :(
