Sure you didnt spell something wrong in the quote, hence the price increase ;)
Insurance has gone up recently by like 30%+, not much you can do except shop around

Sucks to be everyone else here, I didn't even shop around, just rang admiral, told them it was too high and that I wanted to change to fully comp with £500 excess, and it came down by about £120 quid. Maybe you could try the same?

Yeah it's a bastard, my renewal wanted more and couldn't shift on price. Shopped about at got it more reasonably now. I changed from TPFT to FC, slightly bigger excess but it's less than what I paid last year.

£500 excess is a joke though if you crash, and with the under 25 extra £250 that under 25s have to pay that's £750 to make a claim! Doesn't seem that good to me...

Graeme what are you referring to the extra 250? So there's 250+ excess that is hidden, required to pay on top of your policy excess? ...

I think Graeme means a Young Drivers Excess (YDE) For drivers under 25 or with limited driving experience, under 2 years normally?
And agree that insurance has gone up a fair % recently, motor anyway. A £500-750 excess is probably not worth paying £10 less a month, especially if you have a couple of accidents + in a policy year. You'll pay through the bum bum if you choose to claim and it could leave you in a worse position..
