On bbc1 last night the care home scandal for disabled and mental disorders, I'm still outraged with what I seen patients being bullied tortured and humiliated how can these so called carers live with them selves, all 13 cares have now been suspended and police investigation going on but I really hope jail is a option for them.

This was a private home wasn't it?
Started watching it and the level of abuse got worse and worse. Couldn't believe they had nothing to do but provoke the patients to get a rise out of them then slap them about.
Only bit I laughed at was when that Wayne guy flipped. After that I felt sick watching it. Making them take cold showers and tossing them outside in the cold.

This is why private business is bad, they only car about profit not the people.

Communist, red flag waver, stalin
I like the capitalist model, and i think youll find that its wankers that cause things like that to happen, rather than capitalists
Didnt watch it and kinda glad i didnt

Saw a clip of it and omfg. How can someone bring themselves to be that horrible to someone for no reason?
I hate that this sort of thing goes on
My nan was put in to a home after she started going abit.. funny.. as they do, and my dad couldnt look after her anymore, so we put her in a care home, every time we visited, she would be wearing someone else's clothes, have some one else's false teeth, dirty bed and no clean sheets around.. just general lack of Care basically..
One time me and my dad went to visit her, while we were there we saw one of the carers push an old guy in to a chair and shouted "Stay there" in his face..
seemed abit rough, but figured it wasnt as bad as we made it out to be..
As we were about to leave, we had seen said carer grab the guy by the wrist, drag him out the chair and tell him to get upstairs..
My dad flipped out and got the police involved, thats really no way to treat any one, especially elderly..
turned out that the carer has no previous training and was on the job as a "Temp employee" .. how f'cked up is that?
Needless to say my nan was moved to a new home, where she was ALOT happier until she passed..
Boils my blood to know this shit goes down on a day to day basis, yet most of it goes unseen, unheard, or ignored..
/Rant.

I've worked in care homes in the past and the level of care and training varies even in a small town... good working practices are a direct result of good management and constant/accurate record keeping. There is absolutely no reason why any client should not be treated with respect and professionalism... My pet hate is when the 'poor wage' card is played because patience, manners and empathy are free!
I'm glad I didn't even know it was on TV

My nan is in a vegetative state and the full time carers she has at her house are perfect, my sister works at a care home (private) and for all the money they make, all though they don't abuse the patients of course they don't exactly get value for money.. It's a £500 a week to stay there and the family of the patient has to provide toiletries..

Am sorry to hear about your Nan, but glad she's getting good care. Not all homes are bad, I think it's just that the bad ones get on TV and in the papers

I worked in one of these as part of my placement for my nursing degree. I witnessed some abuse, I reported it.
The care home is shut down now, but that doesn't mean to say they won't go to another home where it will happen again. The type of people these jobs get is quite shocking most of the time. Occasionally you will get an amazing person but they are rare.
