View Full Version : SAXO8VYO's silver furio " forgot i even had this thread " a few updates nothing big

Well i havent made a thread and have my 2000/1 x reg furio for around 7/8 months (about 2 months before i started to learn to drive got it for my 18th from my mum).

so when i got it it came with some black vtr alloys really shabby paint job to be honest but it only had 76k miles on it and 6 months m.o.t and tax , a 3.2inch powerflow cat back (de-cat) headunit (not great but was free).

so now ive started a progress thread as the last few months i got more interested in modding my sax and as my practical test is at the end on june and so more things will be happening slowly , not many big things at the moment but few small bits :)

so when i first got it home :) then found out the radiator had a massive hole in the bottom :n:

gave it a clean and ordered a new radiator :)
so the new radiator arrived about 7 weeks after ordering it due to it getting lost by dhl :wall: , but when it arrived i fitted it and also widemouthed the bumper too but havent finished it yet

so after doing this i then decided to de-slat the grill and spray it matt black along with some new mirror caps

Also gave the car a new oil filter , air filter , spark plugs , flushed the engine and new coolant and oil ect... ( have no pictures but im sure you all know what happens with a mini service )

So then i was hunting in my garage one day and found loads of leather samples from the previous owners , so i gave the heather vent covers a quick go and this is how they come out . not bad for a first attempt at trimming :)

After i did the leather trimming i decided to do something abit different rather than spraying the interior bits one colour and came up with this grey with gloss black specks and has a nice clear coat .

well so a few weeks past and didnt touch the car due to family things happening and driving lessons , but then wanted to re-spray the rocker cover as it was very rusty and looked crap also did the same design with the fuse box cover as i did with the glove box lid.

then not much been happening as been working alot and not spending much time at my mum and step dads house (where the car currently is)
but as my test is not long away and the m.o.t has ran out , i got it booked in this saturday for a m.o.t test and i got some new silver vtr alloys as the old ones had crap illegal tyres and looked rubbish

So thats pretty much all i have done up to now , i am going to pick up a 106 Quicksilver interior tonight ( front seats , rear bench , door cards ) for a nice bargin of £30 :y: so should look good just wanted something different other than gti leather

Also looking to getting it lowered after my test if i pass , me and a couple of mates are gunna try the torsion bar and if we cant do it we will go to a garage but the front springs wont be a problem , will hopefully get the spax kit non adjustable

if anyone has any ideas or anything just say :P

Got the quicksilver interior got it for £27 which is a supersaver bargin and got it fitted looks good alot better than the standard furio/westcoast interior , will get pictures up tomorrow day when the lights better :)

would be thankful if i got some feedback good or bad , i know the thread isnt very exciting with not much £££££££ being spent at the moment but it will get better in a months time

Got the new seats all in now and cleaned up so heres a pick of the old ones being taken out :)

that looks a 1000x better than the clown interior :) anymore plans for the car?

Looks good never seen quicksilver seats in a sax before. Planning on lowering ? Would make the car 100x better :) keep up the good work. Check out my furio progress thread for few ideas too.

thanks bud nice to get some feedback at last :) and yeah the clown interior gone thank god lol and well the car is having a mot tomorrow so all mods are on hold until then as i dunno whats gunna come from the mot as i think the brakes need doing and my drivers front wheel bearing is dead , plan is to lower 45/50mm front and 40mm back with spax kit and then either standard exhaust system for a while until supersprint and a few mods not sure yet any ideas bud ???? but im getting cades eros wheels either in black with polished lip of gold with polished lip in september off my mum and step dad

thanks for the feed back bud im very thankful :hug: and yeah ive never seen it in a saxo before either and not many people on here have bud but looks good and i think better than just following the crowed and going for leather , and well as said above cars going for mot tomorrow at 9:30 my mates taking it as ive left it at his house ( 2 mins from mot place ) so all mods on hold till mot repair bills are paid for , but ive said above whats the plans and i havent mentioned that if ive got a few quid spare near x-mas i might pop up to mandyslover and get a vts engine fitted i think its like £450 for engine , fitting and new oils and filter ect.... and i will have a read of you blog bud :) thanks again

car went for mot this morning and passed only needed a few little jobs doing :) but now im thinking of selling it as i want to get a vtr , what do you lads think its worth ????? bear in mind its got 2 brand new headlights , new brakes all round :)

I had the same thought about getting a VTR but then decided against it, building up the no claims on the furio for a year then going all out and getting a VTS or 106 GTI or maybe civic type r lol but the decision is up to you, you've got a nice base and its got some potential ad keep it for abit first.

sooo then only just noticed i had this thread on here and well its been a long time since ive posted anything so here goes last time i updated it went for its mot which it passed and then it got lowered 60mm all round on apex dampers the day after and added a 8v inside sticker on the boot and some smoked side repeaters :)

So after i got it lowered i dunno why but i got a big 4 inch sportex back box cheap and stuck it on wasnt impressed took it off after 2 weeks no pics of it on the car wasnt happy with it at all only a picture of the back box

so the i got a stardard back box on for a while did nothing else to the car then got a supersprint backbox and my god it sounds nice with the de-cat :)

Then decided to do the brake calipers white but then sprayed them bright pink no idea why im not gay just thought whats the worst that could happen ha

Then in november some taxi driver decided to he wanted to drive his vectra into the side of my saxo

Then the next day got a new door and wow i really didnt realise how thin saxos were , went to change the locks over and door was so damaged had to get the grinder out to get the barrel out the door

Then i decided i wanted brighter bulbs i tried the nightbreakers or whatever but then got some 8k hid's and it was the best thing i did bloody easy to fit and bright

Then got some new door and rear speakers and a new headunit along with a sump and amp .
Only recently i got some brand new wing mirrors and brand new silver caps as mine didnt have silver caps and generally looked tired

i know its not anything amazing and not had stacks of cash trown at it but yeah C&C WELCOME :)
