premium increase for a move of 5 miles

i insured my vts with adrianflux and recently moved house only 5miles down the road from where i was living they decided that as a result i can have a £120 increase to my premium as a moving gift. just for the record i live in rural pembrokeshire and the most serious crime here is trollys getting nicked from tesco. now if i had moved to bagdhad then i could see the increase but 5 miles!!!!!!

They are just seeing it as a way to get abit more money from you... Ask them to explain why.. See what they say!.. Unless you have moved from a lane or road with say 3 houses... to a big road or avenue with alot..?

How much did it increase from and to?

£120 is a lot on a £500 policy but on a 3k policy for example then it may be about right

Postcode rating come from crime statistics in your area (car crime you would hope but who knows). Just ring up and try and haggle but chances are they won't do much as there are so many insurance companies these days and so many new drivers that losing your custom won't be a big loss to them

Well it went from £740 to £840 yeah like I said car crime just doesn't happen here unless they class trolleys and Argos pens as crimes? :)

shop around and find out if it is cheaper to get a new policy elsewhere while cancelling the current one.

i had this many times in last 3 years as ive moved 4 times!, fuckin cheeky bastards always charge me more and when asked why , they told me it's Admin charges!.....in other words changing your fuckin address on a computer screen.....you go figure that one out!! It's all legalised robbery car insurance is.
