hi all.
right i have 2 subs in boot so my rear speakers are pretty useless atm so i was wondering could i use the rear wires and wire them up to a pair of comps along with others so the comps will have 2 + and 2 - going into each?

just curious as i cant really power another amp swithout having to get a stronger alternator etc

and i need to upgrade the 'BIG 3' Wires apparently have a saxo furio can someone take a picture locating these 3 wires i need to increase gawg of?

You can wire up comps to them, but you may as well not, and save your money.

Why you ask?:

you don't sit in the back, therefore don't need extra sound there.
the saxo cabin is tiny, good speakers up front (preferably amped) will fill the whole car with good mids and hi's.

I don't understand what you mean by 2pos & 2neg going into each?

if there is too much bass in the car, overpowering the mid's and hi's, then i'd suggest:

amping front comps if not done so already.
put the LPF on for the subs, and the HPF on for the comps (if theyre amped)
adjust the bass to a lower level on the headunit
or getting a headunit offering a crossover to properly equalise individual peices of equiptment within the car.

As for the big 3, i have no pics, but it cosists of 3 (2awg or preferably 0awg [i beleive standard on a saxo is size 4awg]) peices of wire, these include:

1. The wire between the negative battery terminal and the vehicle's chassis.
2. The wire between the positive battery terminal and the alternator's output terminal.
3. The wire (or ground strap) between the vehicle's engine block and the vehicle's chassis.

well im a big fan of my music for starters. and my pioneer headunit is 4x22wrms so i though if 2 going to each it will 44 wrms to the front speakers which is twice as powerful bopth front door and rear door speakers are jbl ut im wanting to get rid and get a set of components maybe alpine. thats why i was curious to if it works. and thankyou for info on big 3 where about is the 3rd wire going from engine block im driving a furio.
(college student budget:bored:)
well at the moment i have 2 jbl gt4 running from a jbl 75.4 so each sub has 285 or so rms to it

each sub has 2.3/4 cuft with a slot port tuned to 35hz
so should be ok?

just wanting some more power on the vocals and accoustics upfront :)
i have a wide variety of music taste so hard to set up to what i like.
see i listen to paulo nutini, busta rhymes, the jam, cure, house music. my music taste is all over the show lol

Still not really sure what you mean by wiring the comps twice? if youre implying that wiring the front speakers twice will double the power going to them, i think youre mistaken. it doesnt really work like that.

best advice i can give is to get some decent front comps and amp them.

I'm not too sure what size boxes those subs would need, but 2.3cuft seems a little big? so long as they don't sound flappy, they'll be fine in that size though.

what kind of budget do you have for the front comps / amp? bare in mind you could always sell what you currently have if you feel it's not adequate.

i can't remember where the earth on the engine is. been years since i've changed the big3. you can get 0awg wiring from maplins fairly cheap though. you'd only need like 2 meters of it.

no i mean as in (sorry for being unclear) taking out rear speakers altogether . on the back of the head unit the 8 block is the speakers as im sure you know. each speaker RL,RR,FL,FR a + and - for each one i mean as in wiring RL + and - with FL + and - for the set of comps on Left and RR + and - with FR + and -, for the set of comps on Right

as each channel of the 4 produces 22 wrms would having 2 channels going to one speaker produce 44 wrms or is that me being a tard lol

the box size i got of talkaudio (posted question) , as it was apparantly best cuft and frequency for those subs.

budget wise im skint atm as insurance is 200 a month and my work on the weekends isnt permanent so saving all pennies for insurance for when job does end lol.

thats why im scouring internet (gumtree etc) for bargains lol

if i where to look out for comps what makes/sets would you reccomend? remembering im a mingebag

I get you now, and unfortunately nah, it wont give them 44wrms lol.

fair play. if thats what the lads on TA say, then it must be correct. I'm not too clued up on boxes for subs other than those i've built.

damn, £200 is a LOT for insurance, i'd be buying a pushbike and saving my pennies lol.

you can often get a load of good bargains on the web / here, most of my previous audio set ups have consisted of this. a lad is selling a set of DLS components for £65 in the forsale section. thats a ridiculous bargain!

RedB is also selling an Alpine T222 amp for £30. this with the DLS speakers would be a great combo for under £100 which is usually costing near £300 - edit. that amp is gone, but i'm sure others will pop up,

i've found a real bargain. PM me if interested

tell me about it car was only 500 haha. groce daylight robbery. yer i spotted them before and was quite shocked the dls gear on talk audio is highly rated , im always searching there for sale section but its all top end stuff haha just makes me angry haha. ive got a couple of amps i could use to amp th comps just the comps i need. and would a saxo alternator/battery be able to run 2 amps? thats what im worried about as i was only running a low power amp in my old clio and when the bass hit the headlights and dials all dimmed haha

saxo alternator can power 2 amps comfortably.
