Agreed. Head and shoulders above the rest for anyone in the 17-21 category from my experience.

Ahh nice one ill try them then! I'm 17 and the cheapest quotes i'm getting on pretty much anything is £3000 - £4000!!

Also it may sound stupid, but anything in particular you could put that it would lower it by anything?

I know exactly how you feel. I'm 18 now, makes it a little more bearable. Try direct line too.

As for bringing a quote down. Adding named drivers onto your policy helps too, make sure they are female, they don't even have to be family members. Doing a bonus accelerator policy (10 month duration, but get a years NCB) helps. Put a low mileage cap per year, look at setting it about the 5k mark. Say the car is parked on your drive if you have one.
Also try fully comp, and TPFT, then compare. Sometimes fully comp is cheaper! TP always seems to be ridiculously expensive, so if your quoting yourself on that assuming it is cheaper, normally it's not.

Elephant/Admiral, same company, similar quotes, I always find Admiral cheaper. Best thing to do is play them off one another and see if they can beat each others quotes, or even through in some freebies. I managed to get a courtesy car cover thrown in for 60% off as I played the whole, ohhhhh I'm a poor student card, which of course I am lol.

www.insureyourmotor.co.uk

I got a quote from them once online, and then a bloke rang me and I told him it was too expensive... rang me 2 hours later and got it 600 quid cheaper!!! :o

The website acts as a broker, so can get you a better price (suaully) than when you ring the company up yourself. I have to declare an IN10 (6 points no insurance) at 21 with 0 NCB on a 1.1 and I paid 3300 so I can almost guarantee you'll get it under 3k mate.
