hello, first off. today with the help of josh, we have fully fitted a 4 awg wiring kit to hook up to a a7 vibe monoblock;http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/vibe-slick-a7.html

everytime ive connected the power cable to battery instanly the fuses in the amp blow!, i can asure u that the wiring is installed correctly, because ive reconnected my old amp up which is a a0 vibe 2 channel amp;http://www.icedirect.co.uk/product.php/172/120/vibe_slick_ao_2_channel_amplifier

and when connected up to the battery it runs fine, its really frustrating, i dont know anything really about audio and learning as i go, thats why ive had help all day, could anyone please help me with my problem??

if this helps, the a7 amp is getting power to it, its like the power is going straight through to the earth and blowing the fuses.

I managed to find the instruction manual with updated wiring info and setup for you...

http://issuu.com/talkaudio/docs/vibe_slicka7_manual

http://130.com.ua/manuals/en/Manual-Car-amplifier-Vibe-Slick-a7.pdf

I've looked into a few websites and it could be a range of things, ranging from a poor ground, which though your other amp didn't pop a fuse, the draw of this amp might as it tries to pull more power to run. Have you checked all the gains, fuse in the amp is the correct rating, impedance, settings etc.?

Might be worth a looky through the manuals above and using proper tools to check and checking continuity between the wiring could also help.

I'll have a proper look into this tomo and try and help further.

Good luck

looked through the manuals and double checked everything on the amp, even put a pair of new 20 amp fuses in there, mate its still blowing the fuses!

update: just been down to lacal audio shop, these guys know their stuff, been advised to try 30 amp fuses, and if they still blow, then i will need a power cap, apparently coz the amp is drawing alot of power from the battery thats why the fuses at 20, are blowing, the need for a power cap so that will take the brunt of the power and distribute it correctly the amp, does this make sense?

thats what i had to do, try the fuse first, dont chuck money at them untill you try the cheapest ways first lol :-)

skint too so gonna have to wait till end of the month to purchase a power cap;
does this sound right????????

30A? just installed a vibe slick a7 in my pals polo and it has 60A fuses mate, have you fused at the front next to battery? are all your power cables in good nick with no short circuits anywhere? are you connecting the battery correctly (+ first then - then start car) and does your REM cable turn amp on with ignition not battery?

Also a power cap will do you no good mate, all they do is stop your amp dimming your lights etc when its running full blast

yeah power cap wont make the slightest bit of difference

The fuse is fine next to the battery, like I said the wiring is running fine with my a0 vibe amp and yes the remote wire is doing it's business, do u think then I should try two 60 amp fuses? Can't be the wiring coz it fine with my other amp, just blowing the fuses on the amp nowhere else.

you mean the fuses that are on the side of the amp? so the ones on you power cable are not blowing?

vtr-marc

Yea the fuses on the amp are blowing the fuse on the power cable is fine

chack you have a good earth from the amp then, make sure cable is not broken and the end is screwed tight to the chassis, and make sure you sand down the paint so it is metal contact, if no then take the amp back as it could be faulty

I wouldn't put bigger fuses in the amp mate, there there as a last resort to stop you blowing the amp :s i think it must be some sort of earth fault making the amp draw to much power, or for a short circuit at the back (which would explain why your front fuse doesn't blow)

The amps dodgy. Also, an improper ground connection would not cause the fuses to blow. If the earth connection wasnt good enough then the amp wouldnt draw any current, not too much.

RedB, you need to give Marc his money back as the amp is faulty. The sticker that reads "warranty void if removed" has been mashed so the amps been opened up in the past.
If you're not going to refund him you should at least offer to take the amp back and test it first.

Theres an internal short in the amp somewhere.
