Right

Iv just bought a car computer running xp which im going to be upgrading to windows 7. Before i start doing this i was wondering if anyone has fitted one of these in to a saxo before.

Generally il be ok fitting it its just two things that concern me, where to place the double din size touch screen? i want to place it in my centre console but im not sure on how much room im going to have there, and also this would mean scrapping my dial's wouldnt it? so how do i go about customizing the centre console.

any help would be appreciated, i just trying to siv out all the info before i decide for sure if im going to fit it in or scrap it.

I'm in the process of putting a screen in my dash.
Basically hacked up the centre piece where stereo goes, removed the hazard and demister switches and will relocate them to where ashtray is (which I'm getting rid of).

It's still in progress so will take some pics and put them up. Basically moulding screen surround with fibreglass for strength and will use filler to tidy up then paint to finish.

Any particular reason for upgrading to win7? What front end are you running on the pc?

i'm planning on doing this too over the summer - hope to run a decent sound card and use that for all my car audio :)

i've seen someone using centrefuse or something like that on a lexus car pc before - it looked quite good

thats where im thinking of putting them, either that or leave a standard size din and creating a surround coming up from where the embiliser goes connecting it to top the ash tray at an angel, if you get what i mean lol,

im thinking windows 7 because of all the upgrades however im thinking xp uses less resources, i havent quiet gone through it enough to know what processor, memory or sound card it has, but i do no it is a great sounding system as my cusions boyfriend had a great set up on it.

That centre console wassey has made looks very factory i must say! how much would you charge for something like that?

Gave it a quick coat of paint last night so I could clearly see the bits needing attention.

Still to put the switches into the ashtray hole so will be doing that today.

i'd love to havee the skills to do something like this, looks so amazing! what happens about behind the centre console though? is there enough room to fit a double din or do you need to customize the dash?

I'm only putting in a 7" touchscreen monitor. The depth is less than a cm so dash shouldn't need much customising, maybe a little though.

A nice you have removed the Vent, I might look at something like this, but for Double DIN radio. Unsure yet.

I have to say Qucifer that looks brillaint except from one thing . . .

VISTA! Get rid of that shit and load on Windows 7. Will work even better when Windows 8 is released with its full touch screen interface which is expected late 2012 atm.
