I was just wondering what you guys put when getting quotes on confused.com
and other similar sites.
Does the license years include my provisional license as well?
I work for Aviva and we include provisional years in that.
thanks
Matt

I have always put the length of time since i passed my test, maybe thats why my insurance comes up more than other ppls lol
Might try this next time

I am 99% sure it includes provisional.
Aviva do it even mentions it next to the box to enter the years

I hope this is the case, I'm with aviva at the moment and they didn't take into account the months I had my provisional.

so you can add the amount of time you have a provisional onto the time you have held your licence? i can add nearly a year onto mine then if thats true ahah :D

You have to tell them most of the time.
Personally I would call and tell them it affects all the whole risk factors, you are a better risk than they think.
you may be entitled to a refund.

Well as i say aviva use the provisional years, it tells you that when you do a quote.
Not sure about other companies.

Never really though about this but i suppose technically you have been driving since the 1st lesson you took.
Mine would only add 2 months onto mine anyway :( Week intensive course is the way forward. Saves money in the long run

i highly doubt it includes provisional as some people apply for one at 17 and then just stop start driving for years, i did for 4 years lol.
doesn't mean i have held my license for 5 years though does it :p

They don't make it clear though, if aviva accepts it there must be other companies. I suppose its up to the company.

do you put from the frist time you held/passed? for instance if you held for 4 years, then got banned, and held for another 4 years, should you put 8 years, or 4 years?

if it is true then i can put i held my license for 8 years lol instead of less than 1.
But i have had my full bike license for coming up 3 years lol shame car insurers dont take my bike no claims into account :(

Wow! Thats well good! I would double check with the insurance company that they do accept provisional years before you do it.
Let us know what happens

I put for as long as I have had my FULL licence not including provisonal.
To be honest I doubt it will make much difference when you have had it 6+ years :)
